Red is a color I tend to avoid on my cards, but every now and then, I want a fiery focal point, and so that is my challenge to you today - make RED the primary focus of your card.
I chose a red Gel Press print background for my card today, because I thought the contrast of a black, solid image would be nice. One of my favorite red design styles is Asian themed cards which feature red and black.
The ONLY restriction for today's challenge is that it cannot be a Christmas themed card.
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HEREfor a list of supplies you could choose from.
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX274) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!
You did say primary focus, rather than monochromatic, so I broke out a stamp I've never been sure whether to keep or gift, and added a big RED poppy to the background I'd just finished.
MIX274 Red Hope
I used DOX ink, Brushos, and a homemade blue mister. And prompted by the challenge I went with red for the die-cut part of the sentiment too, definitely something I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
