With my 1st pregnancy I had to do quite a few 24 hour urine sample. They gave me multiple catch bowl thingines. I use one (unused!)of those to store odds and ends in the bathroom closet.
Well, it's not stamping related so not sure if this counts but I bid on (and won!) a porcelain combination bedpan/urinal at a Rotary auction when I was in nursing school. The auctioneer said, "One dollar...do I hear $1?" so I jumped up and said, "$1!" and the audience was all laughing so hard (including the auctioneer) that he just said, "sold!". I took it home, sanitized it REALLY well and have used it as a planter ever since....bit of a conversation piece, too! I graduated from nursing school in 1977 so it has been repurposed for quite a long time.
I also have an antique spool cabinet (originally used for storing spools of thread...the drawers all have grooves carved inside to keep the spools from rolling) which I use to store my cardstock. It is the perfect size, I think about a dozen long shallow drawers on each side so I can keep at least two colors of c/s in each drawer. Makes it very easy to find my c/s. It's been in my family for many years...my father and grandfather shared a law practice and they used it to store legal size documents (the drawers are really long) in the back office room, not sure how ehrn my grandfather got it but I can remember seeing it in the office ever since I was a little girl. My grandfather is long gone and my Dad is 87 so when he closed his practice and retired, the cabinet ended up in my brother's bedroom and years after that (I had started stamping) my Mom asked if there was anything I wanted of the household furniture so she could be sure to save it for me and that's what I told her I wanted. When she found out why I wanted it, I think she changed her mind...hoping that I would give up this silly habit before the men in the white jackets came to take me away, I think! But eventually, she let me have it and it is the most awesome paper storage ever! Jan
Jan.... that bed pan is a collectible...lol!!! I have an old chamber pot with a lid, metal with porcelain overlay... It belonged to an old friend that had it when they lived out on a farm many years ago... She "knew" I needed it to decorate my bathroom with...lol
The breast pump storage tote is too funny... I've repurpose many things over the years, mostly to clamp something down or hold it up when painting gluing, etc...

I just read this to my husband - out loud - and I was crying all the time I was laughing so hard!
Years ago I bought a wicker wine bottle caddy, with six compartments and a wooden handle. Originally I hung it on my bathroom wall, rolled washcloths and stuck one in each compartment, and the handle became the towel rack. Now it sits on my craft shelves and holds all my glitter pens, brushes, markers and I can carry it wherever I need it.

The bamboo silverware trays like the ones they used to sell at Wal-Mart are the perfect size for re-inkers and bottles, Stickles, and Martha Stewart mini glitter bottles. Just leave out the extra horizontal dividers and attach it to the wall for quick picks!
My inlaws' old dining table is my crafting table. That sucker is at least fifty years old, but was pretty beat up by the time I got it. So, I don't feel bad if I mangle it more.
I took my old bookcase and made it into a ribbon, button, and book storage unit. Not the most inventive thing, but it works quite well. I raided The Container Store for storage jars for it and have enough to separate everything by color.
No hospital or pooping/peeing supplies here though. However, y'all have been cracking me up with your stories!

I have a mail sorter from the old post office in Maggie Valley, NC. I have it stored vertically instead of horizontally, and use it for buttons, frames, stamps, charms - you name it, I have it stored there. It's very special to me because that's where my husband grew up. I also have a wire silverware divider than I use right beside my work area to store pens, scissors, glue dots,

I have saved a potty too! It must be a scrapper thing. I found them (2) in an antique store and thought they were so unique looking and there was something so familiar about them...so I took them home and used them as dog food dishes. A few weeks later a girlfriend of mine came to visit. She looked at the floor and just started cracking up. She tells me I must be the greatest dog mom ever because my little mutts get to have their own crappers to drink out of. I felt so stupid, I knew they looked familiar.
I have used a lot of weird stuff to repurpose. I use old perm rod rollers to keep my ribbons together. I also save cylinders from tampons (NEW ONES!!) and wear them on my index finger. That way when I'm painting, I can easily brush off excess paint. Or if I'm using my copics and I'm blending the color and I want to be sure to get clean color, I can just pull the tip over it until it's clean. It works great. My sister uses new panty liners for the same purpose, she just sticks it to the side of her worktable. It cracks me up everytime she pulls one off. It just makes this sound. Shhhhhlllick.

Your post had me howling with laughter! Thanks for sharing!

Hehehe what a great thead, I'm laughing out loud here!
I just recently started my copic collection, and their first storage was a Tampax empy box (the combo kind with the dividers inside) of course I prettied it up with DP but DH still thought I was crazy! (I've since outgrown that, man those markers are addicting)
LOL at the potties and bed chambers!
I too use my old manual breast pump tote! Since it's insulated, I use it as a mini lunchbox to carry cold snacks for my 3 yr old when we go to my oldest daughter's softball games. It's the perfect size to just throw in my purse.
My next project is making a light box to take pictures of my cards, I saw an awesome post about using a cardboard box and tissue paper, so that will be my next odd repurposed item.
Well, I use old prescription bottles (with the labels peeled off) for needle storage, and I use empty tissue boxes to hold plastic grocery sacks. I use old cigar boxes for lots of storage. I use canning jars to hold EVERYTHING, and I re-use shoe and paper boxes as often as possible. Not too weird, but my husband still looks at me funny.
