Thing 1 and Thing 2's mama
The sun did not shine. It was too messy to play.
So I cleaned up the papers that got in my way. I cleaned them off tables, off the shelf, and the floor I'd rather be stamping. This is such a bore. The piles of the ribbon, the glitter, the Scorpal Why can't I be a neat OCD gal? And why must my children, who are full of such joy Think every sharp object would make a great toy? And glue is for dogs and squirting in globs I may just go crazy - we're living like slobs! They climb up the shelf and spin around my rack Their antics may give me a real heart attack FEMA has denied me my every last plea So perhaps, you good people will be Able to help in my moment of need Oh who am I kidding - it's all about greed I want that darn Scrapbox. I hope I get picked. Because incessant messes, get me so ticked. I won't say that I'm the best. And I'm sure there are worse. At inappropriate times, I've been known to curse. My stories about my children are true Dh and I call them - Thing 1 and Thing 2 I'll post a few pictures so that you can see. Their sweet little challenge to my sanity. And when you're done hearing this tale - all so true. I hope that you won't say, "Oh Boofrickenhoo" I really do want that, I'll try not to covet But if you pick me, I promise to love it My area won't look like papercraft vomit My dog will be clean, without glitter on it I'll clean up my mess and put stuff away They'll be less cleaning and more time for play So this is my tale without all the drama I'm the real Thing 1 and 2's mama |

And the dog thinks this cute little tote is her bed. LOL. It's hard to keep stuff in it with all 24 lbs of Maggie in there. |
I hope you win! Great poem!
|
You're the bestest Laura!

My vote goes TO YOU! |
Man, I thought it might get easier when my two boys got older but now I'm even more scared of the fate of my crafts if I can't get it under control!
|
Very creative and you definitely have the need!
|
Things climbing on everything and Maggie using your tote....you need it GF! You need that scrapbox!

I think you deserve one also, you have my vote. |
Too cute!
My DIL announced her 3rd pregnancy by having her two kids wear Thing 1 ang Thing 2 T-shirts, and she made a Thing 3 shirt for herself! So - your thread title got my attention. Your creativity is unbelievable! Nice job! Hope you win! |
Wow you have 2 little helpers...sooo cute. But I will say I still think I need that Scrapbox more than you. Check this http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...d.php?t=461265
This is my space...also in a rental I cannot hang any shelf units and one space I have which is perfect for the scrapbox to fit cannot put my other shelving cause they need corners to stay up. |

I just have to ask, do you have a pretend stamping room? LOL! Between you & Leona, I hope one of you gets this! I'm probably messier than both of you put together, but I'll sit back & watch you two get organized & maybe I can figure it out!

Yep, you definitely need something that closes everything up. |
Laura! What a great poem! And I love the exhibits! Best of luck to you!
|
I'll take your Thing 1 and Thing 2 and trade you with Things 3 and 4?
Totally feeling your pain (and love) with the kids! Only mine are GIRLS! They don't just want to play with my stuff... they want to USE it all up! Girls love stamps and especially love INK.. oh why why WHY did she have to make a mess with the Sta-z-on.. not the Stampin Up ink? Have tried out this super fine super good journaling pen I bought ? oh no.. she did *WHAT* with it.... broke the point and then tried to "sharpen" it with the pencil sharpener?!!!!! // facepalm // No wonder I never take my stuff out of the boxes when MY Things are around. |
Too FUNNY!
Your 2 boys already out did my daughter, but Maggie wins the prize. She had to be very determined to fit into that little tote.
Good Luck, Mel |
Oh Laura - you DO need this system! Yikes!!!
|
Laura, are the photos from your previous residence (as you allude to above)? Do you have pics posted of your current residence and set up?
|
Too Funny lov ethe poem and the great pictures...Good Luck
|
This is hilarious!! No doubt about it, you definitely deserve this!! Good luck to you, Laura!! :)
|
Laura, so tell us:
- How often would you anticipate needing to close it all up so it would be tucked away and out of sight? - What would your approach be for keeping the work area uncluttered so you'd continuously have open crafting/work space? - What else would you do to the area you'd place it in to augment it (since our craft supplies exceed our capacity to store them, WorkBox or not! - LOL!)? - Based on the photos of it, what if your favorite nook or cranny in it? |
Laura have you had a chance to play today? Or have thing 1 and thing 2 kept you hopping?
|
Laura.....Good Luck, hope you win!! Love your poem by the way!!

Patty, thanks for letting me know people are talking to me and I was ignoring them. **** Slaps self in forehead***** Some of these are from our old house. Dh is a Marine and we move every 3 years or so. I tossed the cart Thing 2 was sitting in, but I still have the paper storage part under my desk. The picture dump is our current house. I currently have the desk and hutch which you can see in the frat boy picture (Thing 2 in his skivvies wearing a lampshade) and a couple of bookshelves. So these areas would hold things like stamps, my Big shot, idea books, alterables. The Workbox would contain the things (Crystal Effects, glitter, EP) that the Things are so drawn to that are humongous mess makers and the items I keep close at hand. My plan is to leave a couple of drawers always available to stick current projects that are works in progress in so that if I need to, I can shut the awesome organizational demigod known as the Workbox. Also I can put all the suplies for one project away and get out the supplies away together and move onto something else this way. I get bored in the middle of swaps, and want to work on something else; but because I need to do the swaps, I leave that stuff out. My plan is to just put all of those supplies away together in the same compartment to easily grab later. I hate clutter, but I am constantly reorganizing. I think this will be an awesome solution because everything will have a good spot. As far as my favorite nooks... OMW. tough decision. I love the pockets on the outer panels, the tiny compartment row, and the large cubbies under the table. I also love the table. I'm happy to answer more questions. I can post more pics of my current area if you'd like. I haven't met my caffeine need yet this morning so if anything is unclear, just let me know. After another cup or two of coffee I'll be more coherent. Thanks! |
