Storing die cut figures

I love to use the pre-cut dies. Some of my favorites are by K & Company. But I have yet to figure out a way to organize & store them so I do not have to dig through a pile to find to the one that will work for the particular project I am working on at the time.

I would love to hear how you guys organize and store your pretty die cuts.

I am dependent upon page protectors and binders for everything! Just last week, I sorted some of my die cuts by theme into page protectors. Now they are in a handy notebook next to my desk. If I were to get too many for the binder to work, I have index card boxes they could be filed in. For now, though, I love having everything in binders.

I keep all of mine in a photo album, the kind that has a slightly sticky back with the clear plastic over it. It works wonders. All I have to do is open up the album and choose the embellishments that I want. I do the same thing with my stickers.

I use a drawer that I bought at Staples. The drawers are intended for 4x6 index cards but here I am using them for pre-cut cardstock and pre-cut die cuts. My same set of drawers upstairs is used for 4x6 photo organization.

I tried the binder and plastic drawer methods and found that I either didn't use them or spent too much time searching through them trying to find something I thought I had somewhere. My DH installed sheets of pegboard on the back sides of the wooden storm shutters on the windows of my craft room (basement) and I now have most of them hanging on pegs where I can see them and be inspired whenever I walk into the room.

I use page protectors that have different size pockets - most are sized for business cards but some pages have larger pockets. That's how I store my stickers and small dies too.

I found that the dies easily fell out of the pockets so I put double-stick tape at the top edge. I put the pages in a zipped binder. Now, in case they fall out of the pockets, they don't get lost.

They're small, clear and they stack. They also sell a holder that comes with 6 of these cases. With a coupon, it's quite reasonable.

I use the Cropper Hopper Zip N Flip "pages" - I repurposed them after reorganizing my cuttlebug dies/folders. I have the small and large pages and sort my die cuts into 2 categories - stamped those that I stamped an image on but didn't use (and they are further sorted by theme) and just the plain die cut (which are sorted by shape). I try to pull both groups out each time I go to make a card to use my existing supply before cutting into new cardstock. I don't have a ton of die cuts so this works so far. I could put them in a binder but I didn't want that bulk and I only have 4 pages so they are sitting in a magazine holder.
