Hi all: I will post the steps, also, if I can figure out how to share the file with you - I will do that too!
I am going to type the steps literally as I am doing them as boxes pop up starting at the ultra beginnning:
1) open MDS
2) from the New Project Options box select: MULTIPLE OUTPUT OPTIONS
3) from the Multiple Output Size Options box select: 8 1/2" x 11" LANDSCAPE
4) from the Choose a Template box select: CREATE YOUR OWN
5) Name your project: I chose "DVD Case Template"
6) from the Add a New Page box select: BLANK PAGE then OK
***I make sure to have my ruler showing at this point - to do this go to "view" and select "Rulers"***
7) On the Resource Palette (the menu on the left) I select the Flower (embelishments) - then click browse
Under select a category I chose "DESIGNER KITS" - these have borders in them that I used for the top band
9) Select the borders you want to use and click OPEN
10) Choose your border and and drag it on to your page (or double-click it)
11) Once it's on your page it opens the Embellishment menu on the right of the screen - CLICK ROTATE 90 DEGREES TO RIGHT
12) Align to the top of your page
13) On the Embellishment menu - change the opacity to 80 or less (this allows you to see the logo and name easier once printed)
14) Find a Stampin' Up! logo off of their webpage that they allow us to use (or hopefully use the one I have in my file) Double click the logo and resize to fit in space. I also changed its opacity to 80
15) I aligned the left side of the logo on 5" on my top ruler
16) next copy & paste the logo, rotate 90 degrees and shrink to 1/2" - I aligned it between 4" and 4 1/2" on the top ruler
17) then along the top bar choose the Capitol T for a text box - once you do the text menu on the right will open - type your title and choose your font - position in the title bar next to the logo
1 select your title, copy, paste, rotate 90 degrees to the right and align under small SU logo
19) now go back to the left menu (Resource Palette) and select the stamp
20) select Browse and choose your stamp set and click open
21) again, drag your stamps on to the page and center on the right half of your page. be sure to stay on centered under the larger SU logo and the right edge of the page - that's your guide
22) then I created another text box and filled it with hyphens and made it from the 5" on the top ruler to the edge of the page (you may be able to add and embellishment of stitching but I haven't tried it yet) - I put this line of hyphens to match up with the 8 1/8" measurement on my side ruler
23) under the hyphen line - I put another text box with the number of stamps and changed the color of the text to gray
***someone on another thread also put a text box under the hyphen line that said: "Belongs To: " ***** which I will be including from here on out
24) then I dragged each stamp on again - resized them to fit between 4" and 4 1/2" along the top ruler and rotated 90 degrees to the right and lined them up under the side view title
25) then I printed and used an insert from my SAB set to draw the cut lines - cut it out and slipped it in a case to see if it would work
I like this because I can change the borders to be whatever colors to organize my categories of stamps
I hope this is clear
