i think we each need our own "wife". let her keep the house up,do laundry & make meals
while we just stamp our days away!
I asked my DH for a maid for Christmas. He thought I was joking! It would be nice to have someone do the dirty cleaning...floors, bathrooms, dust, deep cleaning like light fixtures. THen I could stamp more. Ahhhh....but a house elf would be great to. There must be some spell to clean up your mess.....now where the heck is my wand?
wow, you do sound like me in a way, as I never toss card paper away as I say might need it all the time.
I have a huge basket by my work table and in goes the scraps as i make cards.
Used to do that when I cut my wood for cutting with saw, painting and going to craft shows---kept all the little pieces for next project, hubby would say you are PACK-RAT you will never use them, but do--LOL
That would be fabulous actually. A trunk full of inks and wood mounted stamps, your cling stamps stuck to all the windows and car mirrors, copics in the glove box, and if your SO complains about the amount of rubber in your stamp room, you can at least blame some of the rubber smell on the car tires. :p
I am so glad you posted that picture of a desk not perfectly in order!! I swear looking at your picture, I could be in my craft room...lol!!! And the floor, oh myyyyy. I have had to cut a path through paper. Pull out a stack to pick a color - leave it; pull out another stack to pick a color - leave it.
My nephew is supposed to come up from FL in a week and I am panicking...I can just imagine what he'll tell the rest of the family....oh, well....they get the benefit of my cards....lol
I win for misplacing things. I'll bet I am the only one who had to replace a whole set of oval nestibilities because my messy room ate one and I never did find it!

I misplaced an envelope of a CTMH old set - I know that blasted thing will show up yet!

The infamous BLACK HOLE....I'm betting garbage can. I hope not though.
Don't you just hate it when you have something and lose it, you look for it for weeks (or months) and then give up and buy another one and suddenly the lost one shows up?
I had bought the whole set of SU labels for folders and ink pads from someone on EBay. I didn't get around to using them right away and now I can't find them. I just bought another set of folder labels so I expect the old ones to show up any day now.<O:p</O:p
My brother told me about a newspaper cartoon he saw. The lady came home and put her keys on the kitchen table. "Poof" they turned into salt and pepper shakers. She looked for her keys EVERYWHERE and couldn't find them. The one shaker said to the other, "Do you think we have tortured her enough??" "Poof" they turned back into keys!
I swear it happens all the time at my house! "Poof" and the stamp I NEED NOW is an ink pad. "Poof" and my special scissors have become a stack of paper...
I really enjoyed reading all these messages. I just moved into a small craft room and have been sorting out what I really want to keep etc. Twice now I have lost things in the move. First I wanted to put my CM cutting system dies into one container and then realized I did not have the plastic things that you use to see what size cutter you want to use. I knew I did not throw them away but I could not get them out of mind and I did finally find them. Now I have lost my adhesive sheets from SU I have never opened the package but it is somewhere and I won't rest till it surfaces. I really dislike that about myself I just can't let it go and move on.

When my room is in destruction-mode...I just remember this quote by Pablo Picasso. You are an artist. In order to create, we must be willing to mess things up!

Thanks, for the quote. Now when friends step into my craft room and their eyes widen at the chaos, I can quote a famous artist!! lol I needed that! Thanks for sharing!
I will put this quote on my door (or perhaps my office wall - I've been looking for the right thing to say there) for the benefit of DH and on DD's desk (she needs to remember that things aren't always how you want them to be when you start crafting).

Oh wow ladies, I am so glad I read this thread. I thought I was the only one that misplaced everything I had just put down on the desk and now was no where to be found. I end up getting **** about it and have been known to breakdown and cry. My husband cannot believe I am able to work in a little 12 x 12 inch space on the desk with all the crap around me. I clean every so often and it just comes back to clutter again.

Thank you, thank you!!
This is such a "relief" to know that I'm not alone!
ETA: So maybe there's hope for that long-astray jar of white Flower Soft yet, huh?! ;)
You think 12 x 12 is a little space??? Try making a 5 x 7 card in a space 3 x 4!!!
I agree, I never have a 12 x 12 space to work in. I never really thought about how much space I try to work in but I'd guess about 5 x 5. Most of my cards are 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 folded and I don't have enough room to open to the 8 1/2 size. If I could only keep my work space uncluttered...
I too have been a victim of the shrinking stamping space. Right now 1/2 of my crafting supplies are in the computer room (I work on the computer desk and spread to the train table that is behind me....and to the floor. I can relate to many of the pictures.) My problem is this weekend I really need to start reorganizing and moving the crafting supplies into the kitchen and basement. We need to get the kids into their own rooms which means the computer will go into the living room and I will have to stamp at the kitchen table. If anyone has suggestions for a cabinet of some type to use for storage in the kitchen I would be grateful. I do have some supplies in my bedroom now, and I will probably try to put some more in there. The basement is not finished and I would really rather not store my toys down there.
Any suggestions ladies?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what size paper you use but I've thought of getting a set of 4 drawers and joining the bottom two together to use for 12x12. Then the top two drawer could take pens/inks/stamps etc.
Even better if you could get something like that on castors.
