If you are making cards for the soldiers do NOT use any glitter!I just got this from Sandee this morning "...we cant send cards with glitter, specks get on the uniforms and they can be seen with night vision goggles.
 "Why would you want something so common as money when you can have something so rare as ________". I came up with this one myself, I can't seem to fill in the blank. Would "love" work? I don't want to say "love is rare" or should I say "so precious as family or love"
Any comments??? Thanks
I would say "You" if you were giving it to a loved one or significant other. You could change it a bit to fit better by saying "Why would one want something as common as diamonds when I can have something as rare as YOU". Just a twist that might fit in a anniversary card.
Oh that is so special, I will add it to the anniversary section. thanks so much.

Oh this couldn't have come at a better time...my anniversary is Sunday, and while I have the card ready, I'm always at a loss on how to say I love you differently. Believe me...giving up diamonds for a man IS SAYING A LOT....lol. Thanks for the great verse.

This is a wonderful anniversary verse. I agree giving up diamonds for a man is SAYING A LOT!
Thank you so much for compiling this list! Esp. for the troops! I have 3 people to whom I will soon be sending care pkgs. They are all relatives of people I've met via blogs, so I don't really know them. It is such a relief to have some ideas for cards! Thank you!!!!
Location: I live in Minnesota; spend the winter months in Arizona.

Here are two for birthdays:
Belated:
Your Birthday Came,
Your Birthday Went,
Here's The Card I Should Have Sent.
Humor:
Forget about the past, you can't change it,
Forget about the future, you can't predict it.
Forget about the present, I didn't get you one!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks Carol,
I have added these to the birthday list. thanks so much!!!

My chassis may be old and my fenders kinda rusty.
My tires might be bald and my windshield kinda crusty.
But darlin', though I'm past my prime and I'm moving slower all the time.
You still can get my engine revvin' and take me all the way to heaven.
Honey, even if the roads gets bumpy and I reckon' sometimes you get grumpy.
I'm stayin' with you through it all, I'm in for the short run and the long haul.
I'm carrying loads of love for you still. Happy Anniversary

The first one is perfect, and I'll put it to good use since I'm behind on birthdays dating back to June!

Thanks to all of you who tried to help me find the master list of sentiments. Delia send me a Google link and the I was finally able to view the list!! Thanks again to all of you!!
OMG, you people are awesome! how did I not find you all earlier. I noticed that some were talking about sending cards to soldiers and I was curious how this got started/how I would join? My husband is in Iraq right now, and I have several friends who have meandered all sections of the middle east......
Sending prayers to all of them. Enjoy the sentiments. Delia

Here is one of the organizations that sends cards to the troops so they have cards to send home to their families:
I send to this one because it was started by the mother of one of my stamping friends. Friends give me their cardfront swaps or I ask for donations at gatherings and I finish the cards...usually with lots of help from friends...and send them to From Our Hearts. DO NOT SEND GLITTER!!!! It gets on the uniforms and can be seen with night vison goggles...YIKES!!!!!
