Edith,
You're b-day shoebox swap sounds like fun. I too am an August b-day. I'll be 35 on 08-08-08! Pretty cool eh?
I'll need more info on the secret sister swap. It's a lil' more difficult for me down here in Mt. Home to shop for stuff...I always run up to Boise for crafting supplies, not really practical...KWIM?
The Boatloads of Love card was mine! I'm addicted to puns, so it's one of my favorite sets. I love all the "friend*ships" I've made at SWISS!
Secret sister is like secret santa if any one has done that.
You will get assigned a secret sister then you send little gifts and card to them for designated amount of time then when it is then end you will reveal yourself to you sister.
The one they do on the demo side there is a minimum of 3 cards a month and a little gift or 1 big gift at the end with a total of $15 or $20 value.
I think the demo one goes for 3 months.
So we need to decide how long we want it to go for and what the money value we want to be if any.
is there any thing else any one can think of or does any one have any other questions or suggestions!

How about sending little cards and things, then bringing something and revealing at the next gathering?
Rachel doesn't just *watch* LOST, Rachel is one of the original LOSTIES here on SCS. :-) She *lives* LOST! LOL
S'the truth!
I am a LOST FANTIC!!!
Are you a LOSTie, Tanya???? You should check out the LOSTie thread...anytime if you want to chat about everything and Thurs Nights/Fri Mornings if you want to theorize and gasp!
I love Lost too...but I've seen that thread and I'm not sure I can keep up with it! Those girls are a mile a minute!
We get pretty chatty
We really do talk about LOST though...when it is on! We have made some very strong friendships with old and new LOSTies...there are girls that have been on the thread since it started and few that just started chatting this season...and we are all "Sisters" it is a great group, not sure what I would do without them some days!
I am a LOST fanatic also..but I have not joined the Losties here on SCS
You should come chat!!!
Even if it is just on Thurs and Fri for the LOST talk...we have a few occasional chatters, you don't have to be an all the time girl! We love new friends!!!
I know on Thursdays at my house during LOST there is no talking aloud and no questions...complete silence during my show...I have become a nutcase over it
Oh, absolutely.....I shut off my cell and I am in it...everyone knows not to bug me!!! I DVR it so I can rewatch it and catch all the #s and hints and easter eggs.
I kept seeing "LOSTies" and LOSTies Sister, but I thought maybe the LOST referred to something stamping related, lol. Then I saw under Rachael's avatar it said Desmond's Darling...I just had to ask, lol.
I'm kind of a new Lost watcher. My daughter's friend lived with us last year for 6 months to finish out senior year and that was the only tv program she watched...she got me hooked. I think that was second season? I still need to watch the first season. All I can say is that's a fantastic show! I may have to join ya'll over there...it's getting SO good!
PS Rachel...I got the gelly roll pen today...thank-you so much! And thank-you for the sweet note
Jackie just pm'd me that Diane's (allenkuna) husband, Ron, had a heart attack last night. He is in the Critical Care Unit at St Luke's Boise. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
If you'd like to send a card, let me know and I'll send you the address.
I just now read all your comments about our shoebox swap last Saturday. It was a wonderful time and very well organized. Thank you Amy and Rachel for all you did to make this happen. I know it's no small task to pull something like this off and if you need help for the next one, please let me know.
I really enjoyed meeting all of you and look forward to getting to know you all better. I loved the cards, the door prizes, the food, the laughter, the creative stimulation, and the card contest. All in all it was a FUN time and I look forward to our next one.
Re: your 60th B-day party, Edith, I'd be honored to help you celebrate and I'd also like to learn more about the Secret Sister program. It sounds interesting.
Went up to the hospital after work today. And he had heard his daughters laughing in the room (the breathing machine scared one of 'em and she jumped, it made them all laugh) he opened his eyes and clenched one of his daughter's hands. He opened his eyes once or twice when Diane went in too. Thank you all for RAKs and especially prayers!!! I so greatly appreciate it, and I know Diane does too.. I TOTALLY believe in the power of prayer and see it working!! I'm going back up tomorrow afternoon and will give another update. Again, thank you gals soooo much!! You're AWESOME!!!
I just wanted to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers. It means so much to have such good friends. Ron has come a long way, he was telling us today he wanted to go home.
