Hi!
Please sign me up too. Can't wait to meet you scs gals!
? what is a shoebox swap?
Melissa Tootle
Melissa,
You come up with a project (in this case, a full card). You cut all the cardstock for the base of the card and all the layers, bring embellishments, stamps and ink, everything someone would need to make your card. Put it all in a box with a sample, and instructions if necessary.
For the North Georgia swap we decided it would be easier if everyone would put their swaps in an envelope or a baggie, so that if people didn't have time to do them, they could just take a bag and do it at home.
Anyway, we move around the room going from shoebox to shoebox making the cards. While I'm making the card you brought, you are making Saras, Sara is making Micaela's, Micaela is making mine, etc. So if there are 15 people in the swap, you will go home with 15 different cards that you made.

That's a total of 16, so everyone can get their stuff ordered (if needed) for the swap.
I noticed that my name is on the list for April 8th. Does this mean that I can make my SWAPs and mail it to someone to hand out and get SWAPs back in return? I haven't heard back from my first e-mail. If I am right who and where do I mail the SWAPs to? I wish I could make the get together but I can't. I have a puppet show that day with the church. We should never be to busy to do GOD's work. Please let me know what I need to do, so that I can get the SWAP's made and mailed in time. Please e-mail me at [email protected] or [email protected]
I just found out about this event today from Rachel. Can I still sign up although I am 5 days past the date? I just signed as a SU! demonstrator at the beginning of March. I would love to get some new ideas.
Dana, I contacted Sara and you're good to go! Turns out there's a last-minute spot that needs filling in the shoebox swap. Can't wait to meet ya, neighbor!

I guess around 4:00 or so, but it really depends on when Dana needs to leave since we'll probably be coming together!
I've been trying to plan my project for the last week now, and I'm still coming up blank -- does anyone have anything in particular that you'd like to see? Should I demo a technique from the Resources section? Let me know!

Just a couple of things to remind people with regards to the shoebox swap...Please bring your own adhesives and cutters (scissor or other). Also, please pre bag your stuff so that if some don't get a chance to make your card they can still take it home with them. One more thing... if you are feeling generous and you would like to make a couple of extra for those that missed signing up to make, I know they would appreciate it. I know of at least one more person that wanted to sign up and somehow missed signing up.
Hey everybody, I'm back in Savannah safe and sound! It rained almost all the way back (and still is now, but not too heavily), but I didn't have any problems. Had a blast, and look forward to another chance to get together -- maybe you guys could consider coming down my way for the next SoGA swap! ;)

I am so glad to see you made it home safely!! I ws worried about you!!
Sara, Thank you so much for organizing this day for us!! I had so much fun!!! All the cards were wonderful!! It was also great to put some faces to the names!! Can't wait until the next one!!
Ditto on what Sharon said. A swap in Savannah--stamping, sun, and the Savannah River Walk--now that sounds like a great combo! I'll have to work on THAT kitchen pass!
