I'm planning on staying as far away from Vestal as possible today. Between the BU students returning today and Obama's visit, traffic is going to be killer on that side of the river. Yesterday when I took DD to work at Wegmans, I ran in to pick up a few things, and there were already students from down state swarming the place. Does it seriously take 5 of you to pick up the stuff for your back to school bash? And if it does, can you please not walk around all spread out blocking EVERY aisle! OK, rant over.

I was just talking to Carol, and the Pool Party marker she ordered to be used with her shoebox hasn't arrived. Does anyone have one they can bring for her to "borrow" for tomorrow? Thanks!

Already done w/moving matthew. Now we all drive home to sleep.
In the am the boys leave for canada.
Then matthew will drive his own car back to school.
Thank you to everyone for some fabulous projects today. AND thanks for that super fast clean up. I sure do appreciate all of your help...you're the best
Home safe and sound at 10:30 and a few dollars poorer after stopping at AC Moore, Michael's and Joann's!
Thanks, Diane, for organizing! Hope your evening shift went smoothly! Thanks for driving, Nancy! Thanks for fun projects and yummy food, everyone!
I'm sitting on the couch brushing Zekey since I wasn't with her today like usual Saturdays. DH said he came in and petted her earlier and she didn't even wake up. That's kind of scarey to me! She doesn't hear me any more if I walk into the room while she's napping and I call her name. But she always wakes up when I touch her. Poor little kitty...she's an old lady losing her hearing like the rest of us aging people!
I loved all the projects...I am sorry that I didn't bring as many extras as I should have! Next time I'll have to remember to tell everyone to turn over the punch to see what you are punching! That card can be found in SplitCoast's tutorials under Folded Frame. Thank you evedyone for a fun day and I was so thrilled that Carol FINALLY joined us!
Judy - it's supposed to be hot today so you will appreciate a cold shower!

Actually, they got the water heater working, but they still don't know why it stopped for sure, so it could happen again anytime. I guess it has to be REALLY broke before it can be fixed for good.

Judy, what is the name of the die that you used on your card? Nancy was trying to find it when we were shopping yesterday but no luck.
I had to do some research on this one. It's a Spellbinders that was exclusive to Scrap-mart.com a couple of years back. It's called Oval Rectangles. I don't see it on their site now though :( . Maybe Ebay?
Thanks for the info, Judy! We'll just have to come to your house for a die cutting party!
This morning I finished most of the unfinished shoeboxes I brought home and did about 1/3 of the work on the swaps I need for Tuesday evening at the Rubber Room. Trying to fight off a nap...
Almost burned my arm because DH forgot to turn the burner off. I went into the kitchen and smelled something hot while I was wiping off the counter. While checking the stove knobs I saw the front burner on...5 minutes after he had left the kitchen! He's been doing similar things occasionally, cupboard doors and drawers left open, handles of hot pans sticking out into the room, knives left on the counter pointing off the counter, water splashed all over on the floor, etc., etc., and it scares me! He's not observant, his eyesight and hearing are changing...sigh...He just didn't grow up with my mother who was very household safety conscious and made sure we were too!

If you guys would like to borrow the dies I could bring them to Illion and you can get them back to me at the Syracuse gathering. Let me know.
I too was a good girl and finished up my unfinished shoeboxes. I even put together the extra one of each of mine. I then made the NVR cardfronts into cards and put everything away. It was a good day!
This is Carol - the new girl on the block. Judy and Karen how can I ever thank you enough for not giving up on me with your constant encouragement to attend a stamp gathering. Oh what fun I had!!! Diane you were a super hostess/leader and an encouragement to me. I can't remember all of your names but your faces and the fun I had with you are fastened in my memory to enjoy.
The cards were all beautiful and I was thrilled to get as many done as I did. The food was delicious and the friendship among the group was warm and upbeat. I came home with a fabulous new pack of card stock, other gifts and goodies but the best part of all was the beautiful cards, the new friends and just being able to spend time with a great group of ladies who shared the same love for stamping that I do.
Again, many thanks to Judy K. and Karen K. for not giving up on me, for now I know what fun I was missing. Hopefully I will get a chance to make it to another gathering.
Thank you one and all for your warm welcome. God bless you, each and everyone.
