I know about the candy corn Gayla, because I did it. I'm kind of leaning going all shape cards. They are fun to do and fun to receive. Thanks for the input, you inspire me.

For those of you who were interested, Creativ You on Molloy Rd in Syracuse has extended Saturday hours. She is now open 10 -4. Also on some Saturdays (like the all day crop) she is open til 8pm. Come visit!
I missed wishing everyone a happy May Day yesterday. I guess I was enjoying our beautiful sunshiny day too much to be online.
So, we are just about two weeks away. I hope your projects are well underway or at least a glimmer in your mind.
I will be taking a closer look at the food items and if I find some of the categories to be too lopsided, I may be in touch to see if you'd be willing to make a change. We did have a huge offering of main dishes after I put out that plea but most of you already have offered something else once I said that we were "over" in that area. I hope to do this between now and the weekend.
Enjoy what looks to be another gorgeous day. This is my favorite time of year in CNY, although I do love crisp fall days almost as much.
Now that Spring is finally here...or did we jump right to Summer???...it's time to clean out your old swaps! Donations of cards, Cardfronts, and ATCs will be accepted for the troops and Pounder Hall/ Eastern Stars. Thanks!

Are envelopes required with the donated cards or just a nice to have?
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying all the beautiful sunny weather. I know that Tempi (my Black Lab) & I am. Yesterday was Tempi's 9th birthday and we had lots of fun outside. I feel truely blessed because a few months ago Tempi was diagnoised with terminal cancer and we truely didn't think she was going to make it to her birthday. So, many many thankful prayers that she did....and many greatful wishes for each day I have with her.
I don't know about everyone else, but I have had so many neat idea's running through my head lately. But, it often seems that I am lacking something to make them. Does this happen to anyone else?
For example, I had thought of making an A-2 Tri-Fold Cami card...cutting out the center panel with a circle die, and putting in a stamped image of a couple of cherries. The cherries would be embossed with Black Cherry kool-aid for a nice scent and the sentiment would read something like, "You're Berry Special". I have everything to make the card, EXCEPT a stamp of solid cherries. I only have one that's just an outline which doesn't give off enough scent!!! Go Figure!!! LOL
Then I had an idea to do the same type of card, but in a Nautical Theme using blue hair gel in a bag to make it look like it's under the sea / water. Heck, I even thought of a small circle with a Word Window punch across the top to make a fish bowl. But, I can't seem to find am image I like or that will fit! Argg!
So, I tried my hand at an Asian Themed card and came up with the A-2 sized Altered Gate Fold Kimono Card (see attachment's). I love how it turned out using the double sided DSP! BUT... unless I can find my mini Asian themed stamps in the mess of my main Craft Room, this card won't work for this event or any project that requires a stamped image. Hummmmm.....thinking outloud.....I wonder if I could just use a sentiment on the inside and that would count??? UGGG!
Soooooo many idea's and way too few supplies! (I know, I know... only a manic crafter would say that!) :p
Christi, I think the card's awesomeness speaks for itself! Sometimes a geat idea and the amount of work that you put into making a beautiful card is enough...not every "requirement" (must have at least one embellishment, must be stamped, etc.) needs to be followed. I see "requirements" for these gatherings more as guidelines with the only really necessary biggie being using quality card stock. Anything after that is gravy. If you can't find your Asian stamps there is always computer generated digi "stamping".
how can NY have nicer weather over the last few days than Savannah???? Its been warm but raining and gale force winds the last few days, do you think its sad I am leaving?
After trying to find someone to stamp with in Sav over the last 7 months, whats the chance I would go to a garage sale this morning to find stamping stuff for sale, and yes she stamps, she invited me to stamp with her and her friends next Saturday, If I have everything ready to leave I will, but its a push.
Does anyone want to go to a garage sale with me tomorrow morning?? Kelly Swienton, former SU demo, is selling LOTS of stuff!!
9am in Frankfort Just off Higby (between Tilly's and me).

you know I would have gone with you, did you get anything?
I'm finally decluttering the stamping stuff in the living room this weekend so a garage sale is not a good idea for me! Plus I keep telling myself "We're buying a new roof, We're buying a new roof, We're buying a new roof!" so I don't buy all the goodies I "need/want" like reinkers for my neon ink pads, a couple dies I've been eyeing for months...
I got a few sets that I "sort of " wanted when they came out... But now got them for a good deal. She has lots of punches, probably a hundred stamp sets.

I realized I haven't posted in a few weeks. Getting excited for my first ever event of this type. All projects are completed, sorted and packed, gift swap wrapped, door prizes.Have I forgotten anything?
From some of the previews I've seen I'm a bit nervous that my projects are a bit simpler but I had great fun putting them all together.
