Finally was able to get Zekey's meds this morning so hope her first dose makes a big difference for her right away! 13 more days of pushing a pill down her throat in addition to the three days a week I have to do it for her regular meds...the joys of being a cat mommy to an elder feline! I had to spend 30 mins. cleaning up around the box this morning and started laundering a rug and blanket she had slept on. Then when I returned from the vet's this morning I found her litter box on its side so the poor honey must had had a problem getting in or out. I can imagine the look on her face!
I had chicken soup for breakfast and lunch and now it's time for us cats to take a nap!
Have a wonderful and crafty weekend, everyone! Hope I get in the mood to work on my Middletown projects this weekend.
What's everyone up to? I finally vacuumed the braided rug in the living room, moved it, vacuumed the floor, flipped the rug and vacuumed the other side...rug looked gray from CAT HAIR! I need the name of a place in Utica/Rome that can clean it and stitch it. Zekey has to scratch on it which is MUCH better than the furniture but the rug is coming apart. It also seems to be the place she chooses to be sick and even though I clean it, the rug really needs professional help.
I rounded corners on a bunch of card bases to use on Oct. 13 for troop cards while watching TV.
Everyone -- If your names aren't showing up on swaps where you think they should, please give me a few days to sort through accumulated mail. I have been traveling and not able to access any mail at home or my spreadsheet.
If you don't see the correct info listed by 10/1, that will be the time for panic. ;-) I won't finalize numbers til everyone is comfortable but I do hope that will happen in the first few days of October so you have plenty of time to work.
Please bring cards, card fronts, and ATCs to donate to From Our Hearts...NO glitter, NO thick embellishments please! My friends and I will turn your donations into completed cards that the troops can send home to their families. Thanks!
@ Karen - I need to get home to be able to check the accumulated mail. Will let you know.
@ Diane - Were you going for last?
sure, saving the best for last ;^) Just been busy, then Monday got called back to work in the evening when I thought I would be doing it. I've had something stamping with friend for the last 5 weekends in a row. Now in October is pay back working 3 out of 5 weekends. I really need to retire...like DeMud and another sister.
Bring your friends and put your creativity to work for a great cause! Please join us to make massive qualities of holiday cards for the troops to send home to their families for From Our Hearts! From Our Hearts (check out this site to see what this organization is all about ).
The Ladies Auxiliary is hosting us once again: Saturday, October 13, 2012
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (come and go as you please)
VFW Post 8259
8999 Olin Road, Stittville, NY
If you are a stamper/scrapbooker/crafter please bring your own adhesives and tools (labeled with your name). It would be wonderful if you would like to bring a holiday card (or any other occasion) shoebox prepared in kits for mass production - NO glitter, NO feathers, NO bulky embellishments please!
There will be plenty of work to do so non-stampers are welcome, too! We need help with stamping, assembling, collating all cards with envelopes and information slips, and putting each card into clear jackets/baggies. We will teach those who have never stamped before!
A pot of chili, beverages, and paper products will be provided. Please add to the feast with a snack/dish to pass.
From Our Hearts needs MASSIVE quantities of cards for this holiday shipment!!! They serve at least 40 chaplains/contacts in Afghanistan X 300 cards per box shipped = a MINIMUM of 12,000 cards needed!! FOH would probably like to send 2 or 3+ boxes of 300 holiday cards to each contact for the holiday shipments because each troop has numerous family members to send cards to for Christmas, Hanukkah, etc. (that's 36,000 cards!) Last Fall we sent FOH over 600 holiday cards!
Please forward this email on to all your stamping friends and those who would like to help us assemble cards.
R.S.V.P. - Please do let me know if you are coming and what dish to pass/snack you might be bringing! Thanks for helping us!
Does anyone know if a place in or near Albany (thruway) to leave a vehicle overnight? Anyone live around there?
There is a mall (Crossgates) near the Thruway exit, and there are multiple hotels near the exit too. I only know this from traveling to there for work, but any of those may work for you.

I am sooooo sorry that I have not responded back to you before now. Things have been super crazy in my neck of the woods. I have been out-of town, unexpectedly and just got back in town last night. Plus, I was waiting to find out if Heather (Quilling Queen) was going to be able to get coverage at the Post Office for the date, before I officially did my stuff. She does and is definately coming. So, that means I will be coming also.... IF, I still can.
Given that you need the registration money ASAP, I could do it via PayPal if that would be better for you. Yes, I can do a couple extra dollars to cover the fee's. Just PM me the logistics.
As for the "gift list"... I can ALWAYS use white cardstock, dementionals, tape, and the clear cello bags (Item # 102619). I'm not picky. I just know I use a LOT of pop dots, tape, and these bags! LOL
Huggles,
Christi

Today's mail hasn't come yet so their registrations may be there but just in case, I'd like to have contact info.
Sadly I pulled out my sweaters and long sleeved tops this morning and will wash most of my short sleeved tops, capris, and shorts today to put away until next April/May...sniff, sniff...
I will plan to do one more update to the swap leaders and then we'll compare our numbers so it will still be a few days before you see final counts confirmed.
We have 38 paid attendees so you will need to make 20 shoebox kits to cover your two tables. I will post more on this on the first page as well as here but I need to get off the computer for the rest of the night.
