Sign up for the Park City Swap and Shoe-box swap! The location will be at Bear Hollow Village (Kimball Junction) on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 10 am until 1 pm.
We will be doing a full card swap AND a shoe-box swap.
Shoe-box swaps are to be full cards. Please bring supplies for 14 people to make your card: cardstock, stamps, inks, imbellishments, tools, Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub. (Please make sure your name is on all your supplies!) Include a sample of your project with stamping and assembly instructions on your shoe-box. Your shoe-box swap needs to be able to be completed in 6-8 minutes. Everyone will bring their own adhesive and scissors.
There will be an optional contest for anyone who wants to make their own hand stamped name tag!!
I will provide pizza for lunch and everyone will bring beverage, snack or dessert to share. Please indicate next to your name which you will bring.
Also bring a door prize for the drawings! It can be a neat hand stamped gift or something along those lines, not to exceed $10 in value.
Everyone who brings a door prize will receive one!!
So a recap on what you need to bring:
1- 14 full cards to swap.
2- supplies for 14 people to do your shoe-box swap and a finished sample (plus 2 extra to allow for mistakes). Also bring printed instructions to go with your shoe-box swap project.
3- a door prize.
4- beverage, snack or dessert to share.
5- your own adhesive and scissors.
6- Stampin' Mist and Scrub
7- **optional** hand stamped name tag for the contest
Drop off your kids at school, come stamp and then go pick them up! Get a friend to watch your kids if you need to. But don't miss this fun day of stamping and meeting fellow stampers.
Deadline to sign up is Feb. 1st!!
Below is a link to a map to Bear Hollow Village. The event will be held in the clubhouse. My cell number is 801-276-5632 in case you need to call me the day of the event. http://www.hamlethomes.com/communiti...ns.aspx?cid=10
Come on! sign up and come stamp with us!!! I am hoping someone will come and bring those COPIC markers I keep reading about so we can see them and use them!!!
Yay! I'm so glad more people are signing up!! To answer your questions: Definitely current Stampin Up products preferred, especially for the card swap. Everyone I've heard from so far is using Stampin' Up as far as I know. That's all I ever use!!! I will have it even if 18 people don't sign up!!!! We already have 10! WooHoo! I'll email everyone the address so they can do mapquest to figure out exactly how to get there. It's really easy.
OK... to clear up some confusion. I've gotten a few messages about this: The full card- card swap and the shoebox swap are to be 2 DIFFERENT projects. You will bring enough full cards, all identical, that you have made, to swap with each person there. AND you will bring a different project for the shoebox swap-- a finished sample and enough supplies for everyone to make that project plus 2 extra for mistakes. Hope that helps???
Hi Utah girls! I'm in! And Vicky's comin', so I already *know* it's gonna be a blast!
I'm happy to bring drinks.
Also, I'm planning on using the new Embrace Life set---are any of you doing the same? I just know that we usually all get jazzed about 3 or 4 sets and then we overkill them, KWIM? Variety is always good!
Hi Melissa! Glad you can join us! I haven't decided for sure but I was leaning toward the Embrace Life set as well. Funny that the set didn't appeal to me all that much when I first saw it, but I have fallen in love with it since seeing some of the GORGEOUS samples in the gallery!
Oh by the way, I did hear back from a couple of people who aren't using SU. I don't want anyone to be left out so I told them it would be ok. This is going to be so fun!!!!!!!!
Has anyone thought about their card swaps yet? I might use "Time Well Spent" on my card swap and "Embrace Life" for my shoebox swap, or vice versa. We'll see.....
I chatted with my cousin Becky tonight and I'm trying to talk her into playing hookie (sp???) from work that day and stampin' with us. I told her to come to this forum and check out the details. Here's hopin'!!
I'm also really wanting to bring my Cuttlebug up for any gals who haven't seen it in action. I hestitated to mention that before as it seemed we were going exclusively SU, but I absolutely *heart* that embossing beauty and would love to use it with my shoebox swap card. Just LMK what y'all think!
Does anyone have a card table with 4 chairs they can fold up and bring along? I've been rethinking the seating and realized that without one more table with seating for 4 we may have to cut it down to 16. Let me know...
We have done handmade name tags in the past at the SoCal Mania event with a contest judged by a vote. I could bring a prize. Are you guys interested in doing that as well?? We could make it optional.
Sure, why not? If it is optional, then only those who want to play can do it & the others don't have to stress about it.
Are you going to SCSM this year? I'm trying to work it out so I can go. One of my best friends (Emily-WaterPixie) is one of the organizers.
So, I've been a little under the weather the past few days - - and need to catch up! Are we calling it filled up with 16, doing a shoebox swap, a regular swap, and those of us who want to do a name tag, do it? Do I have everything right?
