I've updated the list today. Unfortunately we've had two people need to drop out, but I've had several people ask to be put on a waiting list, so as soon as I hear back from them, I'll update the list. That being said.... I think that we can squeeze in a few more people so that if you are thinking about attending, let me know ASAP so I can get you added.
As far as final count.... let's settle on 24 as our final number. Even though we don't have that many signed up (yet), it'll give a little bit of breathing room if we do have extra people, and if you don't need it, then it's just an extra card for yourself later on (or if someone makes a mistake or whatever... it's always nice to have a few extra pieces available....not to worry, however, as I live within walking distance of the hotel and can fill in with supplies in a pinch, too.)
Also, be sure to label all your belongings. There's going to be a lot of stuff there, and a lot of people will have the same item, and it's easy to get stuff confused. So be sure to label everything so that you can claim it as yours.
Also remember to bring your own adhesive. You are not expected to provide adhesive for your shoebox swaps... everyone uses their own adhesive. The only exception is for something 'special' - such as glue dots or something your card might require.
Also - was there any interest in any special swapping that day? trading cards, 3x3s, ribbon/fiber? Personally, I think trading cards would be a lot of fun to share - as we're going to make many new friends that day and it would be nice to have a little momento/calling card to remember each other by. This is optional, of course, but wouldn't it be fun. ;)
Trading cards are little baseball card sized pieces of artwork. They are little 'calling cards' of sorts... sometimes referred to as 'artists trading cards' or ATCs. They get swapped at convention and stuff. I think they measure 2 1/2 x 3 1/3. Sometimes people use them to showcase a technique, etc. The stamp set "open for trade" in the current catalog is meant for creaing ATCs.
Carolyn thinks an ATC swap would be nice, can we set a deadline though, to sign up for that swap; because some of us may have to drive 50 miles to get extra suppllies, if needed, with hectic schedules etc. Just to be considered. This is going to be a fun day, can't wait and Denise also thanks for all the time you are putting in on the postings, and any one else

Sounds like there's enough interest in an ATC swap. Let's leave the sign up until April 11th. Is that enough time for everyone? Make sure you include your contact info on your ATC. (on the back is fine...)

Either PM me or post on the list... but be forewarned that my PM box is nearly full right now, so you might have problems.... I'll keep it cleaned as much as I can. LOL. (I like to hoard my messages. LOL. Especially for things like organizing events... I always like to refer back to stuff. )

I'ld like to do the ATC swap. I've never done them but I am interested. Are these supposed to have a theme like about us, or is just anything okay?
Anything is OK!!! I always print my contact info onto mailing labels and adhere to the back. I'll make a sample and show you all how I do it. But you can make them any theme you'd like.
Thanks I'll tell my friend your doing ATC's tonight she might liek to do that also. I am gettign excited about this.
I have a prefrence question, I made a multi step card for the shoe box swap, and I am wondering if I should do some of the stamping to save time. I was thinking of doing the background stamping and just save the main image for people to stamp at the swap. it has some paper cutting and piercing to do also, what do you think.
I think I would not stamp anything ahead of time. Just have everything cut as much as possible. If nothing else, people can stamp/color your project and then assemble it on their own time. Plus, people may opt to skip a step or whatever, so I think it's not necessary to have anything stamped ahead of time.
Hey, is anyone do that cute Lip Balm holder for their shoe box swap?!?! If NO then I will! Too cute and I need to relocate so I can give credit where do!

Hey ladies - I know there have been a few requests that I need to update in the list with regard to signups, etc.... It's been a hectic couple of days for me, but I hope to get everything updated tonight after my daughter goes to bed.
I think I have the lists now up to date. If you have signed up for something, but your name isn't on the list, PLEASE let me know ASAP. It means I have overlooked you. ;) Not intentionally, of course.
