From Hwy 369 you would make a left on Settingdown and follow until 2nd entrance in to park near tennis courts. Building is next to tennis courts.
We'll have the room from sun up to sun down (about 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
We'll have a shoebox swap, regular swaps, dirty stamper gift game and lots of fun!!!! Feel free to bring your own things to work on as we'll have the room all day and I know lots of us need the time to work on some stamping or scrapbooking.
The cost is $10 which will cover the cost of the room, snacks and food. If we don't get enough signed up we may do a potluck or bring your own sack lunch.
How a Shoe Box Party works:
Everyone comes up with a project to share and all the supplies to make that project. It could be as simple as a card, or as involved as a stamped beaded pen! Anything goes!! You just bring one completed sample, along with printed detailed instructions on how to make it as well as a shoebox with ALL the supplies necessary for each person to complete one!
For example, if it is an embossed card, you would supply the paper, embossing ink, embossing powder, embossing gun, EVERYTHING!!! Whatever you choose, you must bring everything to make it -- paper punches, ink pads, markers, eyelets with setter tool, rubber stamps, glitter, ribbon, BABY WIPES AND STAMP SCRUBBERS, I mean EVERYTHING!!!
Please precut ALL the pieces so that they are ready to be stamped or assembled. It is also helpful if you pre-score pieces to keep things moving along. *Optional---put all the paper pieces in a zip lock bag to keep them from getting soiled by anything else in the box! ONLY put in the box the exact items needed to complete a duplicate of your sample. This cuts down on the time to complete the projects since there is no "thinking" to do or choices to be made!
On the day of the party, everyone brings their shoebox along, and between gabbing, eating, etc, the boxes will be stationed around the room and each person makes one of each project!
It is a lot of fun and everyone leaves with a bunch of new ideas!! You will NOT be demonstrating your project unless it is difficult-so be sure that you include detailed instructions *if needed* that are clear and easy to understand!!
Everyone needs to bring enough supplies for all participating in the shoebox swap to make their project. It's always nice to throw in some extras in case someone makes a boo-boo. I will have the final number of projects to bring a few weeks before our meeting.
***EACH PERSON MUST BRING THEIR OWN ADHESIVE, SCISSORS, RULER, AND PEN, CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR NAME OR INITIALS*** You will take these to each station to complete the projects. The last shoe box swap I attended I ran out of mono-adhesive, so glad I had brought a refill! If your project requires extra strong adhesive, you must supply it, some of us only have mono adhesive or glue-sticks.
Join us for the fun, it's always a great time!
If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks for the offer to help. I haven't even thought too much about it except for booking the room, but as we get a little closer and planning it I will post for help ;-) But, definitely if you want to bring your leftover stuff we would love to use it, let me know how much you have leftover so I can make sure we'll have enough.

We had plenty of plates & napkins leftover~ I bought them at Costco... should have enough for a couple get togethers!!!!
If people want to do a 6 x 6 swap or shoebox swap it's a go! In the next few weeks I'll put get a sign up going so we can keep a running tally on everything.
Can we sell any items there? I know my library wouldn't let us but with the new catty coming out, maybe some of will be willing to part with a few sets. Or buy a few, of course! :p
Yes, we can sell items at the place (or at least nothing in my contract says we can't). Please, bring items you wish to sell or trade and we can set up a table or two with our items on there. I think next month I will be having a scrapbook/stamp sale to get rid of some of my stuff along with some garage sale items. I just have way too much and we want to move so I need to unload some things.

I'm not sure what the white elephant game is, but I think it's the same. We draw numbers and the first person picks a wrapped gift. 2nd person can steal it or take another gift, and on and on. The gift can only be stolen 2 times (or is it 3) before it's dead.
In the Dirty Stampers game it can be stolen twice. The 3rd person to touch it keeps it. That's how I keep track.
The gifts are valued between 10-20$ and are wrapped. Last time we played there were wonderful gifts. There were framed stamped art pieces (amazing), current sets, retired sets, scrapbook goodies, stampin' accessories, all kinds of great things.
It is a great time and I recommend everybody brings something because it is SOOO much fun. I would hate to see anybody left out because they didn't know about it.
