Gayla and I are just asking people to bring any extra card fronts, full cards or envelopes that they have and we will pack them up and either send them to someone who is collecting cards for troops, or we will send them directly to troops through anysoldier.com. These should all be blank cards that the troops can use to send back home to their loved ones.
Just quoting myself so it would bump to the next page!! Go me top post!
I just put together another 26 this morning (I made extra card fronts for our gathering, forgetting I'd done them and moved on to another project!).............

Oh yeah, Hi I'm back-what a splediferous weekend to be at camp.
Did you get that amazing rain storm yesterday, TOD?
yes, but we needed it and we had gorgeous star gazing Friday, took down the summer tents Saturday in AM and boating in the afternoon, and the rain started when we were back inside for dinner-so I stamped the whole night-I was site director and not directly responsible for girls.

WOW!! I'm sure you could have auctioned them off here to one of us slackers who haven't even started projects for the 20th yet...... like me!!!

I should have had first dibs-but NOOOOOOO! nice sister
Lagrangeville is only about 20 minutes from me! If you are ever in the area again, plmk and we can have coffee together (or whatever ... I'd root for your DD too!)
Hope your DD does well and y'all have a great trip.
Tina
Tina,
Thanks! We came in first in our division. The kids were so excited! We will be in the area again, though it won't be for a couple of years. DS who is in
7th grade now, is in band too so we have another 4 years of competitions to look forward to (we really do love it, BTW) I am sure we will still be competing down that way again. Also, DD is thinking she may want to attend SUNY New Paltz. She is a senior in h.s. this year but will attend our local community college for a year or two before transferrring. We did a "drive by" of the college today but will attend open house next month. The area is sooo beautiful!

That's great news Annette --- I bet your DD was thrilled.
I know you will be busy when you go to the Open House next month but if you think you can fit it in, I'm willing to meet for lunch (New Paltz is further away from me but I'm always willing to drive to meet friends).
This is the prettiest time of year here --- the leaves are turning gorgeous shades of reds and golds and burgundies. It makes it less boring to look out the kitchen window while doing dishes. Today I saw a blue jay and I know we have a cardinal that likes the same tree the blue jay perched in. I just have to remember to have my camera handy and drink my morning mug of coffee on our deck (opening the door woul scare the birds away and I'd miss any photo op).
Playing ketchup an cruising the galleries until Desperate Housewives comes on ay 9pm. Hubby is hoping the Yankees lose but knows they can't be counted out until the game is over.
Happy anniversary Kirsten!! October is an awesome month for weddings. Our is of course the 20th. How many years have you been married? It will be 17 for DH and I (he should be grateful). Hope you have a good night.

Actually TOD, I was asking for an extra recipe so I could put the bunch together for an extra door prize..
I hope no one minds.... So it's actually...
Recipes 16 + 1 = 17
I'll fix it-sorry-I just thought having them in one place would help. Maybe Linda could update the original post, so they would be together to refer back to. Thanks Nancy

I agree! DH and I will celebrate 27 years on 10/28 ... the day after my birthday. Actually I should say we won't celebrate until a weekday the week after as DH will be at hunting camp

So, Diane/tod, do you have all your stuff ready, now that you spent the weekend at camp?
I still need to firm up an idea for my shoebox. We're at Cayuga lake tasting wine next weekend, so I have to get something going...

I have demo cut, needs to be put together; one planned-not sure if it will be cardfront or shoebox; so still need to plan 2. I work well under pressure. I do have to work this next weekend.
I've designed my recipe!!!!! Hope you are all as impressed as I am. Does anyone know where I can figure out how to change my printer codes to match the SU ink? I know it is on this site somewhere.... just not sure where!!
