I really must use my desktop more than the laptop so I have access to my files (like the birthday list). The laptop is DH's so I only have very minimal stuff on it but it's sooooo convenient to use. So ...
Thanks ... feeling better today. I slept for several hours once I finally fell asleep. Trying to avoid doing anything but laundry etc have been piling up (literally!).
I do want to stamp a bunch of images to color on TUE (I have to take FIL to a dr appt ... series of appts for at least 5 weeks). It's better than Tony using sick time since he gets paid for unused days.
Speaking of Tony he just got home with turkey sandwiches for lunch. We're going to eat while watching an episode (or 2 ... not sure how many are left on the DVD) of Dexter. Not sure how soon I'll be back but hope everyone has a great day.
We put up our little artificial tree yesterday. It has a star on top and I found a story that Michele will enjoy about why that is a common tree topper. The rest of you can consider that your warning LOL:
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.
Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot o f rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the rum. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of it.
Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'
And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Hello All!
I got to go shopping today by myself!
It was hard though cause I kept seeing things that I want! Dropped a couple hints to DH...we will see if he bites.....
Any ideas for a "girl gift" that is not too generic, that I would like if I end up with it, but that a noncrafter would like too? We are playing a game this year for Christmas where we bring a gift and put it on the table and draw numbers and take a gift, but you can take someone elses gift. There are 5 guys and three girls, so this is tough! MIL and SIL are the other girls......

Wouldn't it need to be gender-neutral or are you breaking into groups of 3 gals and 5 guys
Anyway, my suggestion is a photo frame. Almost everyone takes photos and/or has their picture taken during the course of celerations and gatherings so I think it is practical and thoughtful. And, in case you end up with it make sure it goes with your decor
We just got back from dinner at Cavallo's and a drive through the wonderland of lights. I think I'm getting sick - got a headache and stuffy nose. Took some Airborne and I'm headed to bed!
G'night.

Feel better real soon and stay that way. I think I've finally kicked my cold in the butt (the cough will hang around a little longer but it isn't as annoying as it was).

thanks - I don't often get sick and hate it when I do! I'm up getting the kids on the bus this morning, so that's a good sign! I have today off - got lots to do, but might just crawl back in bed for a bit after they leave for school.

Good morning. I am hoping today can be a very productive one. Sunday I got all of my cookies baked!!! Today, I have my christmas cards, 3 fleece blankets and frost the cutout cookies to finish. That is my goal. Plus, I have a stamping get together this morning. I am going to have to leave it early so I can get this stuff done. I enjoy it too. But time is running out. I want to enjoy Christmas not stress over it.

Why can't every day be a crafty day?
Small hijack....I posted this in the general side - but thought I could also turn to my fellow NY'ers (ESPECIALLY THOSE IN ELMIRA OR LANSING/ITHACA)
Ok, so there I was in Target Christmas Shopping and I picked up a Hello Kitty Gumball Dispenser (19.99) for my daughter for Christmas. Next thing I know, I turn around and someone had taken it out of my cart!!! I was shocked and Pi**ed to boot. They are now out of stock (I got the last one).
The most local Target that has one is Elmira, NY or in Lansing/Ithaca, NY. Is there someone who would be willing to pick one up for me and ship it? I can paypal you immediately with the cost of the item, tax, shipping and a little bonus.
Any help is appreciated - please PM me if you can help me out.
I was wondering, is there a way where I can stay on this thread and still check out scs?? Or do you just keep coming back here through the forums?? I just was wondering if it is at all possible.
