LOL....Right?! Our PX will stay open....but the commissary will close....So, went today and, stocked my freezer!!!! Even bought "reduced" breads and threw them in the freezer - I knew you would be proud ;)
LOL! Hell we only have one more reduced bread item in our freezer right now. Think I will take it out for tuna sandwhiches for lunch. Not really worried about the Comm being closed after all I can get alot of things cheap else where it's just the point of why are we always being screwed.lol
I swear I must have some crazy illness going on! Last couple of days my hip/thigh feels cramped and now I have a rash on top of my right foot and my crazy alien lump is doing the grosses things!!!!!!! Just monday I will need to call and get another doctors appt and see if it's a reaction to the meds or what. Feeling the need to be shot and put out of my missery!
Wow, guess I really needed a nap, slept for about four hours until the kids started coming in from school. Think I will go soak in the tub before starting dinner. Hope you all are enjoying the warmer weather.
Okay, I have had two days in a row of feeling 70% better than I have for weeks now, so figure it's time to plan for an Open Stamp. So, how about this saturday, April 16th from 2pm - 5pm. Let me know if you are able to come so I can have enough spots set up, it will be low keep, since I'm trying not to stress out my body.lol
Hi, everyone! I've been a little bummy lately, but just starting to come out of it. I still haven't inked any stamps yet, but I'm getting close! I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Call me bad, but I almost can't wait to get on with my life. I hate being in move limbo. Even if it vicariously because two of my friends are moving with in a month. I am gonna miss the badly, but an am I tired.

I dont think I've seen this thread before. I live just north of Wasilla, in Houston!
*ETA*
Reading through the thread seems to be mostly military affliated folks...I'm a Navy vet and my husband is retired Navy, so I'm at the base hospital/commissary/exchange in Anchorage at least a few times a month!

Awesome!
I've got 2 good friends that live in North Pole...one of them, her husband is retired Army and she is a photographer. Seeing your profile pic makes me think of her aurora photos....wow you guys had some amazing lights this yr! We also got to see them down here, I loved it! It was the first time since we moved to Alaska 3 yrs ago that I had seen the lights, and now I can die happy, LOL.
Yes, we did! This was my first year here so I was very spoiled! I hope next year is just as good. You should visit your friends here next Mar! It is not too bad of a drive (or cheap Alaska Air miles! LOL) when they are forecasted to be active!

We havent done any train rides yet either but our yard backs right up to the train tracks and I love watching the train go by. I know its summer when I start seeing all the passenger cars go by
I'd love to live in the Fairbanks area but my husband said hell no to the winter temps. He prefers the milder temps we have in southcentral. I think the coldest we've seen at our house is -33, and that was cold enough for him. Wimp! LOL
Welcome to the thread Alcojo94! My DH and I were out past Houston about 2 weeks ago. Went up to Talkeetna. Maybe the next time you get down this way we can meet up for lunch.

Hello Ladies! Has no one been around lately? I just finished my first Swap. I hope everyone is doing good.
Hey Michelle,
I have been in hiding...more drama has hit my family this past couple of weeks, so been hiding away. Good news is DH has finally told unit he needs to get home to his family soon than June due to the craziness going on and he will be able to come home a month earlier, which doesn't really help now but it's better than nothing.
I'm feeling the need to have me time, thought about adventuring out to the Stamp Attic soon are you up too it? If so when is good for you?
And if anyone else wants to meet up at the store then maybe do lunch after let me know, the more the merrier.
Glad to hear he'll be home sooner Tracy. A trip out to Stamp attic sounds like fun. IF we go during the week I can't go until phil is on the bus and I have to be back by 3:45.
Alcojo94, if you have time on friday that's cool. My son has afternoon pre-k. I can either meet for an early lunch or a late lunch. Late is nicer cuz I only have my 3 year old.
Anyone else want to try for lunch next friday?

I'd love to have lunch and hang with you guys! I'm on night shift now, but I'll let you know if I can make it. And when I go back to day shift, I expect you guys to come see me when you're at the hospital!

On the 9th I'll be in the surgery clinic for a proceedure at 11am, only an hour appt...not a good patient so I'm sure you won't want to see me then.lol I'm a cry baby, hate needles, blood and guts.
Need to make some bake goodes for ds bake sale tomorrow, then need to do a 10 minute tidy before heading out to get mother's day gifts and post office run. Trying to get back on track and ahead of the game.
So when I was down there for 24 hours 2 weeks ago, my friend and I ate at Arby's for lunch...TWICE! LOL Funny what you crave when you have not eaten it in 6 years! We actually got the second lunch in Wasilla on our way out...but did not eat it until we were out by Clear. The lady at the gas station asked if we brought some for her. ;)
I have a craft friend moving out your way this summer! Hope to make it down more once she is settled. Free lodging helps! ;)
I love Arby's, but you know what I could go for after not haing it for 6 years? SONIC. I'm missing that strawberry limeaide like there is no tomorrow. Every time I go home I have to hit up DEL TACO. I also drink my fill of Cactus Cooler while I'm there. Oh, and hit up the Olive Garden. Serously though, how does Anchorage NOT have an Olive Garden?

OLIVE GARDEN! See, we don't hit many chains while we are down there...have to go to Moose's Tooth...the BEST pizza, don't you think?
We don't have any chains here but Chilis. Fast food yes, but no Arby's. And I was in Japan for 4 years prior to this. When we go to the lower 48, I am like a kid in a candy store hitting Applebees, etc. LOL

Our friend's Memorial Service is today. :(
Sorry to hear about your friend:
I've never eaten at the Wasilla Arbys, but I'm not that big of a fast food person either. We just had Red Robin open before Christmas and that was the huge talk of Wasilla. I dont plan on eating there either, LOL. We like the Mat-Su Family Restaurant, which is on your left as you hit Wasilla from the north.
I'm not quite sure yet. My appt is supposed to be at 10:30. And no, no preference.
In light of a morning appointment, I'd say a late lunch. About 1:30. We could even meet at the PX to make it easier for you and Ethansmom o make it. Another plus for the PX is there is more to choose from. Unfortunatly, it is all faste food. But at least there is subway. The healthiest coice there at any rate.
