*MD* 06/23/2012 SBS Laurel, Maryland - Maryland City VFD Hall
Hello Stampers. Its time for some stamping and another Shoe Box Swap here at the fire hall in Laurel, MD.
The shoebox swap will be on Saturday, June 23, 2012, from 9:00am until 5:00pm, at The Maryland City Volunteer Fire Department Hall, 3498 Fort Meade Road, Laurel, MD 20724. Doors will not open till 8:30am to allow me to finish setting up. There is no theme for this swap but we will be using only Stampin Up! stamp sets, inks, paper, etc.
There will be room for 26 stampers (over 18 years of age please) to attend and each stamper will bring a shoebox swap for 25 people to make and something to share for lunch. There is a $10 non-refundable charge per person for hall rental and will need to be sent to me at least 10 days prior to the swap to secure your spot. Everyone who signs up must have a Splitcoaststamper ID. After you sign up I will send you a reply with the registration form included. Please complete a registration form and return it to me along with your swap fee. The information collected is for my use if I have to contact you regarding any changes in the swap.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesives and basic tools (like scissors, bone folder, etc) to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. Each person is to provide a sample of your card for reference in your box along with typed instructions telling how to make your card. Please also separate your supplies in to individual baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go much smoother. PLEASE use only Stampin Up! stamps, cardstock and inks. Stampin Up! Paper and ink colors can either be current or retired.
Everyone is asked to please bring something to share for lunch. When you sign up for the swap, please post what youll bring for lunch. I will have access to the kitchen for ice and refrigerator use but not the stoves, so please do not bring anything to be baked or that needs to be heated up. Crock pots are always welcome.
There will be several door prizes throughout the day.
I will be setting up a FREE table where you can bring in anything you have that is stamping or scrapbooking related that you dont want any more and you are willing to give away to a good home, like used sheet of stickers, cardstock or page kit leftovers that you dont need/want any more. You know one stampers trash is another stampers treasure LOL.
We will again have the mini Yard Sale at the swaps since everyone like it so much. Here is the info: I will have several tables around the room marked as Yard Sale tables. Each attending stamper may bring 20 items to sell. I am limiting the number of items to make sure there is enough room for everyone who wants to sell something. Each item must be clearly marked with a price and who is selling the item. Put small items in a zip loc bag with your info and price clearly marked on or in the bag. It will up to each seller if they will accept checks or just cash. You will be responsible for the items you bring and neither I nor the Fire Department will be responsible for any lost, broken or stolen items. Please let me know when you sign up if you will be bringing any yard sale items so I can put up enough tables for everyone. Please note that the sales tables will be shared so PLEASE be mindful and leave room for others to put their stuff on there too. If there is not enough room on the table then place you items under.
So your list of stuff to bring is: your shoebox swap (any theme), something to share for lunch, your basic tools (scissors, adhesive, bone folder, etc) and items you wish to sell.
I look forward to seeing you there and having another great day of stamping.
Kathy

Hi Kathy Please sign up Wendy Kwok for the Shoebox. She has been before so you probably have all the information from her that you need. If not let me know. OK
Thanks Eva
Sorry I have been absent. I have been busy and finally got to sit down tonight with the computer and update the list. Look for your registration forms tomorrow.

Kathy, I won't be able to do it. I have several commitments that day thanks to the hubs. I hope you have a great time and a wonderful stamp day and post pictures! Sending a hug.

I was going to bring a dessert but now that Mandi is bringing the trifle, I'll bring mini chicken salad sandwiches. Also, Wendy wanted me to let you know that she's bringing potato salad.
OK ladies, just over a week to swap time. Does everyone have their cards designed??
Looks like we only have 12 this time. I am cutting it off tomorrow so we know how many to cut for.
Since the group is so small I will also bring my Big Shot and the new purse die, embossing folders, framelits, etc and some embelishments and have a die cut purse making/decorating contest.
I also need to know what Cindy, Pat and Ruth are bringing so please post it.
Anything else??

Ok. Final card design chosen - check. Sample made - check. Pieces cut - check. Finger pinched in Big Shot - check (owwww!). Kitstruction in progress...
Ah, kits constructed, in spite of damaged finger, directions printed and box is filled and waiting for Saturday. How about the rest of the gang? Anyone else have their card designed? Kathy, LOL?
I hope you all had fun. My week-end (so nicely planned) didn't turn out exactly as expected but was fun none the less. I look forward to seeing your cards! Theresa, better your finger than your boob, lol!;)
