I posted this in "Can't stop spending $$$" but I thought it deserved it's own topic (call me bighead  !)
(sung to the tune of Hotel California)
Splitcoast Stampin' Forum
In a brightly lit stamp store
Cool AC in my hair
Lift a stamp to look at it
And I know that I'm there
I just have to have it
I'll try to make stuff
But it may just go in my collection
Of which there's never enough!
Up ahead in the distance
I saw another design
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to make that stamp mine!
I come home with my new stamps
But my mind goes to gray
So I get on the computer
And you show me the way!
Welcome to the Splitcoast Stampin' Forum!
Such a lovely place!
Such a lovely place!
Plenty of fun in the Splitcoast Stampin' Forum!
Any time of year
You will find us here!
Our minds are definitely twisted!
'Cause we got stamps on the brain.
We got lots of pretty, pretty stamps
From buying we can't refrain.
How we stamp all our cares away
Sweet inky sweat!
Some stamp to remember
Others stamp to forget.
So I PM to Jen Balcer
"Please help me post my card!"
And she says, "This is how you do it
It's really not that hard!"
And still those voices keep calling from far away
They want dinner, laundry, snacks
But I can't hear what they say...
Welcome to the Splitcoast Stampin' Forum!
Such a lovely place!
Such a lovely place!
Livin' it up in the Splitcoast Stampin' Forum!
What a nice surprise
While your craft ink dries!
Stamps on every table
Stamps of every price
We are all just prisoners here
Of our own device
It doesn't matter where we get them
Because we love 'em all!
We keep on stampin'
'Cause we're having such a ball!
Last thing I remember
Was sitting down and reading some more
I had to get back to that beautiful card
In the gallery I was before!
"Just relax!" says Beate
"We are programmed to receive.
You can post as many cards as you want
But you can never leave!"

Such a lovely place!
You won't save money on the Splitcoast Stampin' Forum!
Every stamp you eye
You will have to buy!
I think we should make this a STICKY NOTE! I absolutely love it. I was totally singing it in my head. Hotel California will never be the same for me.
Jan - YOU GO GIRL! I think YOU should record it! Hey - can we get sound bites here? I was singing it too! Woohoo, sending it out to all my stampin friends! Try to get them to come and check out the galleries and forums. What creative genious! Am gushing too much yet!? Love it! And the song deserves it's own thread!
Brilliant Jan! As always I am astounded by your creative mind! You need to email this to Pam! She needs to hear us sing the part about "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!"
I am still sad.
But this got a li'l smile out of me!
Hotel California always freaks me out when I hear it. In religion in high school we 'analyzed' it for it's non Christian (Satanic and cult like) tone and it must have made an inpression on me!
That being said, this song is perfect for SCS.
"...You can post as many cards as you want
But you can never leave!"
My mom is always telling me that stamping must be a cult!

This is true, though. There is no way for you personally to delete your membership. The moderators are the only ones who can, so once your here YOU CAN'T LEAVE! You can stop posting, but your membership "will lie in the Chamber forever!" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Someone needs to record this (not me--we'd all get sick listening to it). Then burn copies on cds and stick it inside the SCS cookbook!
Kind of a bonus for buying the cookbook--put it on repeat to play over and over and over while you are cooking away!

This is great! I love the line: "Some stamp to remember, some stamp to forget". It's really quite true (to be on a serious note for a second...)Stamping can make anyone happy!
I have a friend that is a musician. Has his own studio. I wonder if he would do this for us? I would pay him a couple bucks to record it. I will find out if you guys want me to.
Jan you are fabulous, and you must say I am fabulous! (wanda)

So very blessed and so very thankful.
God is good.
Great job Jan!! I loved the part about not being able to leave!
Stampcrazygirl-I remember going to a Christian seminar in my highschool auditorium way back in '82 when I was a freshman, and talking about lots of different songs.
Hotel California is still one of my favorite songs, and I still only see it as a sort of warning. What other groups/songs did you guys talk about? It's been so long since that thing, the only ones I remember being mentioned were The Alan Parson's Project and Seals and Croft (how ridiculous is that?) It was a curious little gathering (and in a public school, at that!)

Jan,
Can't wait for my daughter to get home and share this with her, this is one of her favorite songs and I know she will be singing Jan Tink's SCS version all the time now.

I LOVE it!!! I think we should sing it at every SCS get together. I'm gonna print out the lyrics so we can sing it at our next Minnesota get together! That and the von age(sp?) song for the prize giveaways! ;)
