Default AAARRRGGGHHHH! How do I DO this?

Ok, can anyone help a totally flummoxed person make a 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" envelope, please? I have a score board, but I just don't know what I'm doing wrong in relation to the size of paper to START with (and of course where to score it). Yes, I realize I could order some - but I need them now. As I said to my hubby when he came in today and innocently asked: "Whatcha doing?" And I replied: "Trying to figure out HOW to make an envelope when I have almost zero mathmatical ability OR creativity at this moment!" (Well, in fairness, he DID ask...)

If anyone can help a clueless person get some clue, I'd greatly appreciate it!

THANKS!

you could try a "google search" for envelopes templates.
I always thought perfectly square envelopes cost extra postage, as they don't fit the
postal machine? but not positive on that

starting paper size is:

4.25" x 7"

With the 4.25 side up, score 1/2" down each long side.
Rotate so the 7" side is up, score at 1-1/2" and 4-3/4".
Cut on the score lines to where the scores lines intersect.
Angle cut side flaps, if desired.
Corner round top and bottom flaps, if desired.
Adhere bottom flap to side flaps.

It actually makes an envelope that is 3.25 square.

Many Thanks, ladies, to you both, for responding.

I'm actually not needing to mail these, but needed them for the inside of a CD folder album I'm making (and realized I was all out of the little mini envelopes I needed for the inside portion.) I have heard though that USPS won't mail the little 3x3 card sizes.

Valerie - thank you so much for the details on making the envelope. I did actually search here on SCS to see if there was a tutorial somewhere, but I couldn't pull anything up that fit the bill. I also googled but couldn't find the exact size I needed - so I so appreciate the details you provided!

Now...on to mini envelop making!

Thanks again!
