You know you are talking to a stamper if you tell them " I used Bamboo Leaves on Old Olive because Shabby Shutters was too light " and they know exactly what you just said

You know you're talking to a stamper if you say, "I left the lid off my Tombow and the tip clogged but I just used my ATG and that worked just as well"...and they ask where you buy your refills for the ATG at the best price.
"So I bought this new shirt today. It's So Saffron and it has some stitching around the hem and collar that's not quite Cajun Craze; it's more subtle, kind of like Really Rust."

What prompted this is I was talking to my friend and said I was a little behind on my cousin's Birthday card. I had made the paper flowers and was working on the leaves . First I tried to stamp the leaves with shabby shutters on Old Olive , but it was too light so I had to redo them and use Bamboo Leaves
She said " Could you run that by me one more time in English ?":lol:
Sometime we forget not everyone is a stamper and understands what these names are referring to . Oy

I'm a stamper, and I don't know what all those colors are. I'm assuming they are SU. I know Old Olive is. Not all stampers are familiar with SU products - even those of us (like me) who have been stamping for almost 15 years.
You know you're talking to a stamper if you mention "dies" and they immediately know you mean something to cut out pieces/parts and not something to change your hair color...
...or if they don't think "Corner Chomper" refers to a character in a video game...
...or that a Cuttlebug isn't a fluffy bedtime toy...
...or that a Big Shot isn't some celebrity...
...or that "MISTI" doesn't refer to light fog or teary eyes...
...or if the color palette for their room remodel is based on some pretty paper...

My sisters and I have been stamping for the last sixteen years, both all together and alone, and have incorporated stamp chat into our own sister language. Yes, our poor, poor, husbands...... See, we even call it stamp chat.....

We are vacationing with another couple - the guys know NOTHING about stamping except that my husband knows I do it. The other lady asked if I stamped several hours each day - don't I wish - and if I do anything else. Thinks all I make is Christmas cards even though she also gets birthday cards from me. They just don't get it. I may not say the colors out loud, but I think in SUp and Momento and Gina K colors.
A Scor-Pal is not the same as a Wing Man.
Perfect Pearls are not actually perfect pearls.
A House Mouse does not require an exterminator.
When someone talks about their Silhouette, they don't mean their shadow.
I one time told my friend that I wanted the Sizzix Sizzlets Rat-A-Tat-Tat..... my husband thought I was nuts but my friend knew that it was a Sizzix alphabet set.
anyone ever sent a text to their hubby with stamping abbreviations like CS PP SU..lol
Even when I say I'm going to mike's and he thinks I'm going to see my brother Mike :P
So funny! I thought the Bamboo Leaves was a stamp, not an ink color, because SU used to have a BG stamp that had bamboo leaves - back before my time, and I've been an SU demo for going on 12 years! :-)

Still use and love that BG stamp and people who are not stampers will ask "What the heck is a BG stamp?" And my husband would just comment "Why don't they call that color just green?" He thinks in race colors!
My husband and I are in the car and we pass a Cricket (phone) store.
He says "I bet you're going to want to go in there and see what
they have!" I had to explain that I have a Cricut.

My home decor items have to be in Gumball Green and Sahara Sand. I carry around colour samples of all the SU current and old colours so I can show people what I mean. Oh, bother! Posting this while cooking dinner - the onions for my paella are burning. This is more important.
Reminds me of an experience I had several years ago when I had spent several weeks working on an altered book and had asked my husband to help with cutting openings, etc. He finally understood the meaning , but never did understand what the purpose was of cutting up a perfectly good book. Several weeks later we were driving and what should we see lying in the middle of the road but an open book that had been run over by cars numerous times. Without missing a beat he looks over and asks, "Would you like an altered book?"
.....sponged a swiss dot EF with always avocado, inserted a piece of neenah (a2) ran it though my bug, cut 4 cheery lynn circles, coloured with brushos, distressed the edges, popped up on heavyweight CS using all night media pop dots, sprinkled each with candy dots, added a senty and sent to my SU demo.
....just wanted to see what i could come up with......lol!!!

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
life is something that happens only when you run out of cardstock
My DH only knows a few of the SU! colors. So, when we're driving, he always mentions that the hills appear to be green galore and I have to correct him and state that they look more like mellow moss today. Other colors he loves to use: that handsome guy (handsome hunter), pixie pink (DH has no idea what that color is!) and yoyo yellow (he just likes to say that one!)
