Today is the day my local NEW Michaels opens...I'll be there when it opens...I'm bringing my camera, check out my blog in a few days with the pictures!
There's a new Michaels's going up in northern MI (Saginaw), opening March 1st., right next to Barnes & Noble. I'm assuming it's one of the new refurbished ones since there's already one in the area.
what town are you from? Glad to see that you got a punch because there only were a few!!!
I live in Madtown (Madison). I am also on LuAnn's SNPSN design team. Yes, my niece said she got me the last punch and with a coupon at that! She's my hero.

Oh...nice to "meet" you! Do you get to LuAnns store very often?

My brother lives in EC and so I visit maybe 4 times a year and always stop in to see LuAnn when I'm in town. Would like to go soon but the weather isn't co-operating. I still need to deliver Christmas gifts to my brother and family. I love LuAnn's unmounted bathtub---I've spent hours digging through it.

My 3-year-old loves to go to Luann's with me so we can "play" in the bathtub! Time sure can fly when you're in the tub!! LOL :p
Love the new Michael's store in Eau Claire. Lots more room and lots more to look at!

Me and my daughter used to pick through the tub too...LOL
LOL...where are you from...nice to "meet" you too!!!
From New Auburn.
I'm so excited...I just got a 50% off coupon for Michael's! Grand opening is Sunday, the 8th. (Hopefully the punches won't be on sale so I can use my coupon - better deal!)
I keep seeing people finding the refurbished Michael's and wondered if there was a list that showed where they were. If not... let's start one!:p
Eau Claire, Wi, just open a new Michael's and i'll tell you it is really beautiful, it's a lot bigger and brighter and oh my gosh the scrapbook area is amazing, I was only in the store for 45 mintues and still i haven't gone thru the whole store, just scrapbook section, I'll have to plan to spend a least a couple hours that how huge it is.
I live in Eau Claire and can't wait to visit our new Michael's--AND the new JoAnn's that either just opened or will be opening soon right down the street!

There's one in Moreno Valley, CA! Southern CA! I am still getting used to it. Not sure if I like it better or not. The bead section is pretty awesome. It's layed out very nice. Since I'm not a jewelry maker I really am not interested. The scrap section is pretty big. Everything is spread out in themes (I guess that's how I can describe) I like this in some ways and other ways I do not. If I'm looking for baby things everything is in one spot. But sometimes I have to go back and fourth if I'm just looking for certain colors and not per theme. This is not my closest Mike's so I only go occasionally. I know when Mike's has the open stock paper for like $1 they don't have it. They got rid of the older things in place of newer!

Hello Laurie!!! I think the JoAnns open the beginning of March...
I have one near me in Smithfield, Rhode Island - from what I was told this store is a test run to see how it works out.... was also told that they would be stocking 20,000 NEW products in the store - which it has been 6 months and have not seen too many new items - they took all the old product and distributed it to the other old store in Warwick, RI and some of the nearby MA stores!
That's the same song & dance I heard!
In reality, I think they downsized 'my' stuff & made huge improvements to the beads. They do have tons of the Inkadinkado clear stamps, but 95% of the rubber stamps are EXACTLY the same. I didn't even see embossing folders. Lots of stuff for the Slice & Cricut but I don't have (or want) either.
I guess if I was at Target next door I would drop in... but it won't be a special trip!

There is one in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I haven't been there yet, but my friend has raved about it! The address is: 10240 Maysville Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
My sisters went to this one and were in it for two hours and didn't get through the entire store! I am going this weekend for sure!
Asheville NC has one.... the whole store is supported by the Scrapbook/stamps area in the middle. Awesome store. It seems like everything else was just by product so to speak. Can't wait for my store to update
I've actually been in two of the new (2nd generation is what one store manager called it) Michaels. One in Melbourne, FL and the other near Haines City, FL (I-4 and Hwy. 27).
Oh Lord! THank you for this! lol I even wrote to Michaels and asked them to please indicate on their store locator part of the website which stores are "revamped" and which ones are the "original style".
I'll start: The new, revamped Michaels I recently had the great pleasure of shopping in was in West Palm Beach, FL. It was easily found on Okeechobee Blvd just one block west of I-95. Ya can't miss it!
If anyone knows of one in Broward County, FL, please post!!
I'm not sure if there is one in Broward, but there is one closer than West Palm Beach. It's in Boynton Beach, off of Boynton Beach Blvd & Congress Ave, across the street from the mall. The store is a lot cleaner than the old Michael's, but I can't say that I love the layout of the papercrafts area. Too many aisles and they still need to beef up the rubber stamp section.
We have a revamped one in Baton Rouge, LA. They have updated and increased their stamp area but everything else is the same inventory for the loast 10 years.
They will be opening a new one at New Market Square in Wichita at the end of Feburary. It's about time!! It will replace the sucky one on west Kellogg. The one on the east side of town is great!! Not sure if it is a new style or not but but it's way better than the other one out west.
