I saw this product used on the Scrapbooking show on DIY network. I checked the product list, and it is made by ThermoWeb. It comes in packets of card size sheets (4.25 x 5.5). They are clear sheets that are reusable and can be used to mask images. It seems like it would be a bit sturdier than post it notes. I am wondering just how much it can be reused. The website says it is available at retail stores, including WalMart, but I have never looked for it.
I've used it, but I forget that I have it most of the time. You can keep it right on the back of the stamp for storage. I think I'm going to get mine out and start using it again! Oh, and it's available at Michaels, too!

I have it -- and used it, but found I liked post-it's better.
I think it was the sticky on post-its I liked, and possibly the masking magic is thicker?
I have some that I dont' use -
pm me your home addy adn I'd be glad to send you out a sample for you to try before buying

Thanks for the info, Happy Heart.
And Dansah, thanks for the offer. I sent a pm.
Two more examples of the great people on this site!
It comes in handy for making masks that you are going to use a lot. For example, the basket in the retired Button Bear set from SU. Or the new basket from the Hostess set. You can stamp on it with Stazon, cut it out, and not have to worry about stamping it again every time you want to mask. And you can also see through it, so you have exact placement. If you are worried about it moving, a touch of repositionable adhesive works well, like Dotto.

I actually bought some on clearance at Hobby Lobby several years ago (for about $3.50 for 3 8 1/2 x 11 sheets) and finally used it recently. It's not as sticky as I expected, which isn't a bad thing, just unexpected. I thought it worked well. I haven't tried using post its for masking though. One thing I do like about the product is that it comes in a stiff package which makes it easy to stick your masks back in there for storage.
I alway put my used masks back in the stamp set storage case -- ready when you need it.
I've also used the card stock vellum as a mask -- for the reason mentioned here -- you can see through it. Can't think of an example, but sometimes it was necessary.
And what's the halo effect? When the image you're putting over the mask image has space between them? I always get that if my masked image is not trimmed tight enough, but not cus it's post-its. Maybe that's the reason being see-through is better.
Sometimes if you use a thicker paper you can get a gap (halo) between the images you are trying to mask, undercutting helps but sometimes it still happens, at least for me anyway So I think the thin masking magic helps with that.
