I haven't, but my Mom used to do clocks that she covered in apoxy. And I've seen an example of how to do this in a scrapbooking mag recently (I think it was Creating Keepsakes, but it might have been Making Memories or Paperkuts as I get all three.
They used acetate. They laid the object (in her case pressed flowers) on the acetate and then covered with the apoxy. Leave it to dry. Then she could apply it to her page and the background was see through.
Now, from my Memory of my Mom doing it. USE A WELL VENTILATED ROOM! Also, be very careful of bubbles. They can remain in the work forever. My Mom used to us a hair dryer to get them out. The heat aparently helps the bubbles to rise to the surface, but be careful as the heat could also cause the acetate base to curl.
I'm sure that the magazine article to which I refer (I can't find it-- sorry) is very helpful and detailed. I skimmed it. It seems like it came in the may or june issues, so you might go check the back issues at your local scrap store. Good Luck
