I never realized what I did had a name until SCS came along. Now I know hoarding is a real disease. ;)
Seriously, I do what a lot of others do. I only started buying the DSP in the fall when I became a Demo....And now I have packs of paper that I hardly use, because I am so afraid it wont be there when i find a "cool" project to make. Go figure. As others have said, better paper keeps coming out that I like better, so I just need to use up the stuff, and if I really want it, get more later!
Definitely embellishments. I am still collecting them....brads so far, I tend to hoard them. UNLESS I have a fair amount of them. When I first get a package of something, I use a lot of it, until I start to feel like I am going to run out, then I stop all usage apparently! The pretties kit I dont use enough, I just got the SS HPH and I keep saving that for who knows what. Jumbo eyelets, I think I have used 3 or 4 out of the package. Ribbon to some extent, though I try to use that without hoarding. I have 1 1/2 spools of that pomegranate satin ribbon that is no longer sold, and I keep trying to use it so I can use it up when the in colors retire. But I hoarded it all during Christmastime, and now I just have so much of it!
I even hoard adhesive! I use up the "junk" stuff first, and save my good stuff. Don't know why i bother with this! I think I need to invest in an ATG!
Amazingly enough, I dont hoard CS. Well, actually, maybe I do a bit. I try to even up my amounts in paper. So, when I order individual color packs, I use a lot of that at first. I try to use colors that have more paper left, and save some of my colors till a project that I MUST use that color. There is nothing worse than running out of a color when you just have to use it on something! Now that I have all of the ink pads, I dont have to be picky about what colors to use. Now its all about my preference.
I laugh at the comments about how everyone loves how their stuff looks, sitting all pretty on their shelves! I laugh because I am this way too! I made a HUGE SAB order, as in about $700 worth of stuff is all mine. Granted a huge chunk of that went to buy the 2 color fams I didn't have, the ink pad holder, and all the refills. Then I ordered I think about 10 stamp sets. I have all of those SAB sets that I planned to use as gifts and incentive type gifts. I made a decision to sell most of them when SAB is over, now. I can use that money to order MORE hoardable stuff. :-D
