I definitely recommend getting the CM tape runner; mini and regular size and refills. In fact, I'm a Cm consultant, and my SU demo uses CM tape runners in her albums. She told me that she can't promote products from other co. but that's all she uses in her personal albums. We usually trade off. lol Cm tape for SU stamps! lol
Let's see...what else. If you can afford it, start by getting the CM cutting system. (circles, ovals) are teh basics. I have tried several different cutting systems, and I have found none that match CM on their cutting system. Coluzzle comes to a close 2nd; but personally, I HATE cutting out those little tabs.
what else....hmm....
I would definitely recommend the CM 12" trimmer as well. again, I've gone through 5 different trimmers and I stopped searching once I tried the CM one. Initially I wasn't impressed since it seemed so flimsy; but it's not. and it's accurate. AND i love the measurements that's on there.
hth!

I'd have to second the oval and circle cutting systems...they're the best out there! I'll second the trimmer, too! I find myself reaching for it all the time!

I agree about the oval and circle cutting system. I'm a SU demo and I still prefer my CM cutting system. I've shown it to friends and they now want it too. I would much rather people be happy than be a customer.
Sorry to disagree but I'm a coluzzle girl. I would say the "musts' are the corner rounder (nothing else even compares) and the little teflon tool for unsticking mistakes (use it for my cards too) also the metalic pens (they too are the best, never skip or clog up since I've had them. I love the square punches too.
Circle/oval cutting system patterns, and the 12" Decorative trimmer! (I love the straight trimmer, but since you won't be able to demo it, save the $ for what you can demo and get the decorative trimmer.) I LOVE mine!

I agree 100%
I love the tape runner. it is nice B/C you can move things around B4 you really place it on your card!
Ok, just my 2 cents, but I'm a coluzzle girl too. I have a lot of pieces for the CM cutting set, but it's just not in style anymore to cut your pics up into stars, octagons, and eggs. Maybe its just me, but I found the blades dulled very quickly and the template thing that you put on the pictures (the blue plastic thing) slipped very easily, meaning I ended up cutting heads off of pictures, etc....
If your going to be a SU demo, skip the tape runner and get a hermafix. You can get dotto temp or permanent refills and they are great, plus you don't have that big long piece of paper always hanging from it b/c it's a self contained system (unlike the tape runner).
I do however like the double square and circle punches. That'd be my vote.
Love the cutting system - nothing else really compares...I have tried the Colluzzle system and I suck at cutting that with the blade...
I would get the cutting system with Circles and ovals...if you can only get one because of $$ I would go with the oval - as that works great for making ovals for the front of cards and such...
I have the square punches and while they are nice to have the different sizes they are pain to punch sometimes
I use the tape runner for my albums all the time.
The metallic pens are the bomb- I love them!!!!! I have tried a few other brands but CM are really the best...the silver one works great on dark cardstock - I currently own 3 because I never want to be without one. I made Thank you cards for a friend for her baby shower on dark blue cardstock and bought a CM silver pen for her to write everything out with..I have the gold and the copper ones too...I think you can get a metallic fine-tip pack for about $10 that has 4 different colors (silver, copper, gold and patina)

I love the oval/circle cutting system! It is easy to use, my DD was only 7 when I got it & she uses it for her scrapbook all the time (she does not have strong fine motor skills) but it was still easy for her to use. I think it's the best!
I just made my first CM purchase, it was the double circle and double square punches. I got both sizes in each so I can do the layering thing. Next I am going for the cutting system, my SU demo is nuts about hers.
Oh, one other must have...they have the best corner rounder ever!!!!
just out of curiousity, is there any difference between the new SU corner rounder (that's a thumb punch) and the CM one?
also something to keep in mind when buying CM, is to get stuff you wouldn't need to demo at an SU workshop. A cutter is probably a good choice because you rarely actually demo them if you have everything precut. I have a non SU one that works great for my behind the scenes work, but I usually bring my SU one to workshops in case I need it in a pinch.
CM's photo tape is as good or better as sticky strip for building boxes and such. Their 12 inch wave trimmer is fun. I do like their circle punches because I can then do four layers if I wanted (two with our punches, two with theirs). Their metallic pens are excellent as well.
ITA with the custom cutting system. I love the self healing mat. I use it with my eyelet tools as well. Get the ovals first. The ovals have 4 shapes in a set and circles have 3 in a set. ;)
I also love the personal trimmer. It has a self healing mat on the top as well, so if you use the smaller shapes, you can take it almost anywhere, just stick them in the drawer and off you go!
I agree with everyone else the cutting system is wonderful, I have every template available. I also am working on getting all the punches. I like that you can layer them and you can punch out little frames also. I think my favorite new thing is the Crobtoberfest punch. It is two different leave shapes on one punch. It is also limited edition, I think only available until the end of Oct.
The side kick, love mine. No cups or coffee on the table any more!!
I second that. A friend of mine is a CM demo and got me one of these after I lusted after hers. Then I got them for my mom and her sisters after they spotted mine!
I also like the cutting system, particularly the circles and ovals!
