Default What color embossing powder do you use with craft inks?

Do you use clear so the color of the stamp comes through? Or white?

I've never embossed with craft inks before and I am about to place an order for some. But I don't know what color embossing powder to use!

Thanks!

I would use clear so the color shows through.

I use clear the majority of the time unless I have the exact match to the craft ink color then I use that to make it a bit brighter.

At one time SU sold colored EP (it matched some of the colors of ink). If you have the same color EP as ink I would use that. I don't have the colored EP so I use clear.

I like to use SU's Irridescent Ice embossing powder with craft inks. It shows the ink through, but gives some sparkle to it - which I love!

Clear embossing powder is great too!

I like both of them - lots of help, right?

my demo taught us a trick...

you can stamp in versamark then in what ever color ink you want and then use clear EP and BAM... you have embossed in what ever color you want (limited to the colors of ink you have of course) no NEED for craft inks.

with that said... i like the look of craft ink any way and plan to add some colors to my collection. but the above trick is how i bypassed the NEED for craft inks. but was still able to heat emboss in a variety of colors.

i would say tho... if you are sold on using craft inks i would just get clear EP so you could use it with any color ink.

happy stampin' and embossing!

clear and irridescent ice. What I like is that I have all of the colors of ink and I only need two embossing powders (plus gold and silver).

I've tried that before and I like that look too. The craft pads seem to have a more vibrant color. I'm just buying the craft spots in bold bright - my favorite family - and also in brown. I think that will be plenty for me!

Thanks, I'll get the clear embossing powder as I already have irridecent ice!
