This is my first RAK request. I hope I am doing this correctly!
I have been spending my life on SCS for quite a few months now. Recently I introduced my mom to it and she, too, is addicted. She is an avid stamper and has recently started participating in swaps through SCS. Perhaps some of you know her? Her name (and SCS screen name) is "Cleva".
ANYWAY (long winded, as always), 2 years ago she had one of her knees replaced, and while she had been feeling great up until recently, she prayed that she would never have to have the other one done. It makes her immobile for quite a while and she is NOT a "lazy" person. She loves to go out and do as much as she can, including camping. I had told her last time around when she was down about her surgery, "Just be glad it's Winter and not Summer!"
Well, guess what? Her doctor now wants her to have her other knee replaced and FAST (before she hurtrs herself).
Her Summer will be spent recovering from the surgery. She's really down about this and I feel so bad for her. Also, she has some other medical conditions that can easily be complicated by any type of invasive surgery, so that is stressing her out. Last time things went fine, but she was on lots of drugs for quite a few months afterwards. If all goes well, she won't have any reactions to the drugs again this time around.
If anyone is interested in helping cheer my mom up through what is going to be a difficult period of time, please PM or email me. I'll send you her address. She will just love to get handmade cards and since she's an avid stamper, she appreciates and cherishes each one she gets. I'm sure she'll be spending a lot of time stamping while she's laid up, so your cards will also most likely inspire her!
Her surgery date is April 18th.
