Hey Folks - I need your help - my not so D daughter dropped my laptop and the screen is falling off - don't ask - I am in the process of backing it up and hoping my warranty for anything happening to it at Best Buy will help - that said - I have tons of Favorite websites - mostly stampin folks - somewhere sometime someone (pretty vague LOL) posted about a way to save them - maybe it was a website?
Anyone able to help this not very computer savy but very unhappy Mom??
Under Bookmarks, then Organize Bookmarks, there should be an import and backup option...but I'm using Firefox as a browser (and can't figure it out on Internet Explorer - although I tried!)
Would it be Delicious - http://delicious.com/help/learn. That stores your favourites online so you can access them from any PC. There's a Delicious download to integrate with Firefox. Probably IE too, for all I know. Once you download and install it it will offer to synchronise with your current favourites.
If you use Firefox, there's a utility called MozBackup which is a tiny download, but it will save all your bookmarks/favourites, saved passwords (if you want). It's brilliant! Saved my bacon more than once. Bummer about your laptop, though.
For Internet Explorer: Under File, then Import and Export, then choose Export to a File, you then have a choice of Favourites, Feeds or Cookies...select favourites and follow the on screen instructions until it asks you where you want to save and you are golden.

Very cool site. I had no idea it existed...PLUS you could save all your faves from home and access them from work (ahem, if you *did* that sort of thing...chuckle)
Oh yes!! DH uses it, I must admit I don't. But that's because all mine are regularly backed up with MozBackup, and I don't have internet access at work. In fact recently they made the firewall so strong that our network couldn't even communicate with our controlling computer in the lab next door - we couldn't work for two days till they sorted it!
