I felt the same way until I saw some cards using the tape and just fell in love with it. I don't like the torn tape look because it's just not my style. I like using it in place of strips of printed paper.

Just look at different sites and you will be hooked. ;)

It is just another embellishment. I like it because it can be used in place of ribbon, but is much flatter and easily stamped over. And because I make my own with stamps I already own, I can have the color and design and width I want. Isn't it great we can all use or not use what we want?

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that since I am one of the few that doesn't have a large stash or designer paper, I can use my DYI Washi Paper in place of paper strips.

Enabler alert: MICHAELS had a bin in clearance full to the top of washi tape. It was marked $1.49 but each rang up at .79! I picked over 50 rolls.
Blessings.

I too hit the sales & bargins. Washi Tape is a great "Thank You" gift that I tend to send to member's who participate in my swaps that I host. I think the ladies really like it. ;)

So far I'm not interested in Washi tape at ALL. That said, I've yet to use any, my demo may have some at her worshop this evening.

I was surprised to see a bunch of it in my local Staples this week.

Even if you don't use it for crafting...you have to admit that it's a beautiful alternative to regular ole scotch tape. I often use it at work to pretty up a post it note, or some other note that I have around my workstation. Washi tape and its colors and patterns just makes me happy!

Yes, I use it like that, too! It is just cheerier than boring old clear tape!
