I was playing on the computer yesterday and printed off some wallpaper border samples to use on cards. They print out to fit perfectly on a 7"x5" card and can be cut down for a standard card. There are so many interesting choices!
Here's an example of a card using the printed border:

Very cute idea. I didn't know you could do that via the internet. I always try and get sample books to use in my classroom, but never thought about using them for cards. Thanks for the idea~
What a great idea - thanks for sharing. Even tho I'm kind of new to SCS, I really appreciate all the talent I've seen here. I especially appreciate all the creativity when my own is on the wane. Thanks everyone for being a constant source of inspiration for our favorite sport.

I first started scrapbooking in 2000 after my youngest son got married and I had no idea what I was doing! I used wallpaper and borders from the internet in most of his wedding album. I have a wide format printer so it worked out great! Here is a photo of one of the pages where I used wall paper and borders:
Worked out great but I did use a lot of ink in my printer which can get pretty expensive!
Has anyone ever used real wallpaper on a card as your DP? I have a ton leftover and I love the prints but am afraid to use it! I don't know why, just seems wierd.
I might have to give it a try and see how it looks.

Five years ago, I lost one of my dearest friends to ovarian cancer. Before she died she gave me a wallpaper sample book of textured wallpaper to use for crafting and this past April I used a piece of it on her daughter's birthday card (she is grown, but I have kind of adopted her, actually her Mom asked me before she died, to look after her!). Here is a photo....the blue textured is from the wallpaper sample book:
I used to use wallpaper all the time; I must have had 20 books with lots of great themed papers. Over time, though, I found them really aggravating my asthma with their dust. Sadly, I had to get rid of 'em. Some of my favorite cards used wallpaper, though! I think that's totally cool about being able to print them off, Happy Heart! You can get the look without the dust, lol! (It didn't help that the store I got them from was owned by a heavy smoker who SMOKED in his shop! Ewww....)
I have not used wall paper, I was not sure it was safe to use. I now see that it is and am so happy to have another choice. I know that printing out the paper can be expensive with using up ink, but once in a while it will be great to get a design that you won't find elsewhere. Also, I think that some of the stores, Home Depot comes to mind, have little swatches you can take to compare and color match with. The ones I have seen would be great for cards, though that was quite a while ago. I think I will check it out next time I head over to that area for errands :p

Oh wow, thanks everyone for posting your LO's and cards. Each one is beautiful, and inspires me to get out the pattern books I have stored in my studio. Will have to check out Lowes and Home Depot next time I'm in town for samples. Thanks for that tip as well.

I have a filing cabinet drawer just for wall paper pages that I've cut out of the sample books! No bulky storing of the whole books.
It's a great "GREEN" way of reusing paper, saves money, and on cards it doesn't matter if it's acid free or not. I wouldn't use it on SB pages now that I know better.
IF you are lucky enough to get a texture book it adds lots of punch to cards without lots of work!!!!!!
