I figured I better get off my butt and start using the huge stash of paper before I get an engraved invitation to be on the show "Hoarders".
I just finished a 2011 calendar using the Amuse Calendar download and I think I broke a personal record for the amount of supplies I used. The rule was nothing was off limits. Here is a list of what I used:
12 sheet of 6" Basic Grey paper
2 sheets of 12" Heidi Grace paper
3 sheets of Glossy cardstock
6 sheets of neutral colored cardstock
12 scraps of colored cardstock
2 pieces of matboard
4 buttons, 4 epoxy stickers, 2 brads, 5 rhinestones, 13 prima/other flowers, 3 pieces of ribbon, 2 O rings, Tim Holtz grungeboard.
Of course, this did not make a dent in any of my supplies.
I have been telling myself all week I dont need another single thing in my stamp room..why you ask? I have a PTI order due today, and order coming from Gina K AND I am going to the rubber stamp expo here in Vegas tomorrow. Told my sis I was only going to bring $100 with me...the sad fact is that if I need more...it is there...I just dont want to spend it. I have plenty of stuff in my room (now spilling over into 2 other rooms) to make cards for the bookstore, troops and other things. Dont need anything, I dont need anything...hope this will work for me when I am at the expo tomorrow. My hubby keeps saying he is waiting for the house to tip over because of all the stuff in my stamp room...lol

Amber the best way to keep to your budget is to walk through the entire show first BEFORE you buy anything. Then take a break, have a snack and think about what you have seen and recall what made an impression on you. Go back and buy just the things that made an impression on you and you remember seeing.
If something you really wanted to buy is sold out all of these companies have a Web site . Order it by mail.
These shows usually have a floor map where all the venders are located. Just put a check on map for that vender if you are really excited about some of their products so you can find it on your second walk through.
It is too easy to impulse buy at those shows and then get home and wonder why you bought some of it. LOL

I think the way people go over budget at these shows is they buy as they go along. Then toward the end they see some things that are absolutely fabulous that they really want, but they have spent their alloted money. So they go over budget to buy them.
All common sense is tossed to the wind for a woman at a Rubber Stamp/Scrapbook show or a man in the Sears tool department LOL
oh why oh why am i NOT in vegas this w/e....i am stuck in NC. my DH says he thinks if i add one more teensy thing to my craft room (the bonus room over a two car garage) it whole kit and kaboodle will wind up on top of our cars !!

I've been to the Vegas show a few times when we lived in Southern Cal. Loved it!!! I really miss conventions - there are not many around here - most require at least a 6 hour drive. I guess I should be thankful for that!
What a great idea! Love your calendar! I need to do something like that, my paper stash is getting out of control haha!! My LSS keeps having 4 for $1 sales and I keep stocking up lol!
