Question use blender pens with crayons?

 Hi! Does anyone know if there is a rule about using blender pens vs aqua painters with the watercolor crayons. Someone told me that you should use blender pens with the colored pencils and the aqua painters with the crayons, because the crayons will mess up your blender pens. Before I was told that I used just the blender pens with the crayons and LOVED the results. Don't like the way the aquapainters look near as well (and I just had the blender pens at the time) Anyone else have a problem with using blender pens with watercolor crayons?

Love this site, so much good info. Thanks so much!

I use the blender pens with crayons with no problems. I like to color the image and then blend with the pen. Great control.

I've never heard about the crayons ruining the blender pens.

Now I've only used my crayons on about 10 images but I haven't had any problems using my blender pen with them. I just touch the pen to the crayon color I want to use then paint my image with what's on the tip of the pen. Before changing colors or storing the pen I 'scribble off' the color left on the tip.

Now when I use my watercolor pencils I actually color the image then use the blender pen to "spread" the color. I still do the 'scribble off' to clean the pen before changing colors or storing.

Don't know if how I use them makes a difference or not but my pens seem fine.
