Default unmounting wood mounted stamps

I read on here several weeks ago about methods to unmount stamps. I can't remember how long to leave them in the microwave. was it 10 seconds or 1 minute?
Thanks in advance
Kat

I"d only leave them in for a minute if you are cooking 5 or 6 stamps at once AND if you put a mug of water in the microwave with them to keep things from heating up too much.

I think the usual recommendation is about 10 seconds. My microwave is not so youthful as it might be, so I usually cook them for just a bit longer.

A minute seems too long.. I did all of mine (about 500 sets) and just pulled them off without any problem- stamp and sticker.. they come off super easy - even my ones from the early 90's so 10 secs seems long enough.. and if you do too many sets at once they will cool before you can get the suckers apart..

If you smell them cooking you've left them in there too long. It's not a pleasant smell.

When I use this method I have about 4-5 stamps in the microwave and do it for about 20 seconds. I have also been using the freezer method lately and that seems to work quite well too. I have been un-mounting my stamps to the bare rubber. (My 14 yr. old DD said today "Mom, I don't want to know why your stamps are in the freezer!!)
