Unmounted Stampers- What do you do with your stamp boxes?
I have gone unmounted. I store all my stamp sets in cd cases. The storage space I have gained is amazing. The only thing I don't know what to do with is the SU stamp boxes I no longer store stamps in.
I have used some for accessory storage but I still have a lot of boxes that look brand new. I feel wasteful just throwing them away. I keep thinking there must be some craft project that would be perfect for them. Please let me know what you do with yours.
I have many of these empty boxes as well... I've taken all of my background stamps and monogram stamps out of their boxes and lined them up on a shelf, so now I'm looking for uses for all my empties, too!
I use two of the boxes to store my acrylic blocks (I have also gone with unmounted). I use others, depending on the size, to store brass stencils; colored markers (not bought in sets); tiny, individual stamps that I don't want to unmount; sheets of stickers; gel pens; and one with assorted basic tools to take with me to a class at my LSS like small ruler, small scissors, glue sticks, embossing tools, tweezers, needle nose pliers, pencil, exacto knive, paper piercer, small sponges, eraser, and extra cutting blades for my Fiskars paper cutter.
As a girl guide leader I would definately donate them, there are so many things that they can be used for! We have used them to create first aid or be prepared kits and the girls can decorate them to suit their likes/dislikes.
There is a really cute idea out there where you turn them into a purse...stamp inserts for the sides and use ribbon for the handles. One of the sizes is the perfect size for a set of ten cards and envelopes....adorable! Kind of a make your own Z Becky Brown...I will ask my upline to give me her instructions and post them!

Thanks!!!
I use mine to store Swap cards in..Until they are mailed!
Extra ribbon, Primas, Small piece of scraps.
Ink spots.
H20's, Markers.
I Have sold cards of 10 with Envelopes. This way the person has a clean container for later.
I've done a number of things with mine. Sold some on ebay and BST forum. I also kept a few for doing bleach stamping. Just through a paper towel into one. I also kept one that I actually cut the top apart from the bottom and use it for the marble rolling technique. Then......since I often travel with my coloring, I use them to put the images I am working on. Then......since I don't like to sequester myself in the basement to stamp when DH is home, I cut, color and get everything ready for cards I am making and throw them into a box. Then when DH is home and I still want to work, I take a box with me into the family room and watch TV with DH while I assemble.

You're not the only one... I think it is thew beginning of the end of the unmounted romance....So hang onto those boxes, ladies!
Yes...I mean I have a TON of TAC stamp and I love them....and I think the unmounted system is aweseome and I am a huge advocate of it....but the blocks are calling my name...I stamped so much more when I had them wood mounted. ;)

I've saved a few of them - keep my useable stamped pieces that aren't cards in them; tote my new cards to my mom's house for stamp camps (to show off); use them to hold sets that I share with others.
The rest I give to my mom who sets them out for the gals who come to stamp camp to take. The favorite size seems to be the background ones. The smaller ones don't go as quickly. Thankfully the are civilized about it and don't steal them all at once
Yep, threw mine away too. Just so much baggage you can carry through life. Ghandi died owning only a bowl they say....guess I have a looonnnggg way to go before I get to that point. Threw the wood away, too. I stamp in a small closet. Cozy to me, probably claustrophobic to most, but not much extra space to store things I am not using. I am a zip lock "bag lady"...all my paper scraps and cards go in those.

I have 11 of the extra large size storage boxes. 3 of them are from SU and the rest are from TAC. They are all the same size & shape. The SU ones just say Stampin Up. The TAC boxes have a small sticker on the side that can be removed with goo gone. The boxes are all in great shape as I have not used them. I have gone unmounted and store all my stamp sets in cd cases.
I would be happy to sell them for $3.00 each. I will have to figure out shipping once I know how many you want. If you take 5 or more, I would be happy to trade for SU stamps.
all my accesories are in my extra boxes, punch scraps, fibers card layers in varying sizes, vellum with greetings on them...brads, eyelets and kit all extra markers have a case home...whatever fits really.
my kids first aid kit, his card games and flashcards,
dh has some for his man-junk,
and I have some in my purse with wet wipes in them.
They are my new 'ziplock'
and I'm not even unmounted, I just get extras when I break up sets for gifts or when I mix sets up a little.
don't be shocked!
