Default Trendy Color Combos

I need help! I'm helping a friend make a small themed scrapbook for her mom's 60th birthday. I am really big on having everything coordinate. We want the book to have a trendy feel. Here's the catch. She wants to include the invite (store bought). The colors are pale plum and black. Can you think of a trendy color combo using pale plum?

In dire need!

Here is a page, by imalittlecrackerjack, that uses just Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and vanilla..

I like the feminine look of Kallien's page (barely banana, perfect plum, mellow moss, naturals white)

Those are both great choices, but actually I like the scrapbooks that use just a two-color theme, and Pale Plum with Black accents would be stunning. It involves using a couple of layers per picture to make the black part be mostly an accent. Do you have one of those clever corner punches that make it easy to slip the photos in? If you look in the gallery at scrapbooks you'll find something similar.

P.S. Is your friend putting on a big party?? If she can find balloons, streamers, paper plates and tissue paper in something resembling Pale Plum she's all set, as black is easy to find. Don't know where she lives, but the stores around here still have pots of chrysanthemums that are really close to the Pale Plum color.

I just did some pages with Perfect & Pale Plum, white and silver embossing - they looked great. I think that adding the black would take it to the next level.

National stamping magazine recently had a request for submissions (now closed) using Plum and Tangerine together. To be featured in a spring issue.

Plum - combined with brights as in Mexican fiesta colors, tropical fish, (big obvious) fruit. Roosters.

Try combining plum with unexpected colors
