My DS wants a Pirate birthday party. Does anyone know of a template for a CS treasure box? Oriental Trading has them, but I'd rather make them and personalize them for each kid. Thanks.
I would love to see this too, as my daughter is having a pirates party too! we are going to plan her invites using Ahoy, Matey and my snap stamps to stamp Yo Ho Yo Ho in the background. Since I use to work at Walt Disney World, she rode the Pirates of the Carrabien ride long before Johnny Depp made it popular! LOL! She has loved pirates all along and can't wait to have a pirate party!

I don't know of a template, but I saw these and thought they would be SOOOOO cute decorated as favors to go along with the Ahoy Matey stamp set. Click on the link below.
I have purcased grosgrain ribbon, organza riboon, and some kraft gable boxes from them before. The kraft gable boxes were really easy to stamp and decorate. Really fun to do.
Thanks so much for this link to these boxes. This will be a great craft activity for the kids at the party. We just watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean moive, so he's more gung-ho than ever for his party. I don't have the Ahoy Matey set, but now I'll just have to get it
My DS (age 5) had a pirate party this year. I have a left over pirate chest that I had purchased here at my house. I saved it to make a template. I'll put it on my list of things to do tomorrow and hopefully I can figure out how to post it here.
Thanks for the fabulous link, Stampin' Andrea!
I spent this evening creating a pirate treasure box template! I haven't finished fixing up my sample yet. But I've got the template made.
I debated not posting it because I decided to send it into SU! and I want the credit before it's all over the web! So feel free to use it but leave my info and copyright on it when you print it out. It will be in the bottom of the inside or outside anyway and won't show.

DS went to a Pirate bday party two years ago and still talks about it! The boys went dressed as pirates. After a few games, (Walking The Plank was one of them) then they went on a treasure hunt. They had to read and follow a map to look for clues which finally led to the "treasure" box filled with trinkets and candy. He had a blast!
Good luck on finding the template!

Ok finished my sample but I've decided to tweek it just a tad...I want the top to fit over the bottom but it's just the reverse now. I think I'll also put a clasp into the paper of the template so it can be 'locked'!
Curious? Harrr Harr Matey...you need the key! But it's getting late and I've missed the upload deadline. It is now "No Load Sunday" sorry!
I LOVE IT! Please, please, please, please share your instructions and template with us. My ds is having a pirate birthday party in October and I would love to make these for it.
I'd love to see your template too! My kids are too old for pirate parties but I've always loved the idea of the treasure box. Could be used for lots of things. BTW, don't know if McDonalds in the states has the pirate toys right now but they do in Canada! Great for birthday favors.
