As I'm waiting for our weekly Sunday fun of posting our favorites of the week, I noticed that I had put 51 cards in my favorites just this week! I have just over a thousand in my favorites! And that's after I cleaned it out with the cards and pages that have already inspired me with work of my own. So, I was wondering, how many cards, pages, etc. do you have in your favorites right now? After the poll, please also tell us if you visit your favorites often for inspiration? I love going to my favorites. SCS is better than any stamping magazine!
I have very few in my favorites because I tend to print them out so they are close to my work station and I don't have to have the computer on all the time.

My MOM does.. well she was supposed to STOP after I showed her how to save to Favs!! LOL (But she is stubborn!!)I love to visit my favs... it keeps my sanity when the "Gallery" seems to be having troubles.... and I need a fix!!
I print every group of 16 I add. Before the former server changes, it would print perfectly on two pages. Now it prints on three, and the third is just words. Also, the pictures on the right side are mostly cut off, and I can't figure out how to change that. So sometimes I will individually print one of those, if it is something I am especially likely to use as inspiration! I love having my thick folder of cards to look through before I stamp--it really gets the creative juices flowing for me!
I probably have about five which I save for the post your favorites each week. I save the cards I like to my computer file in My Pictures, this way I don't have to be online and hope the gallery is cooperating to bring them up. I'm weird because I rarely look at the file when making a card but I just like looking at some of my favorites.
This weeks challenges sure had a lot of favorites so if you need an idea it's a nice place to start looking.
I have just over 200. I don't look at them as much as I should. I think I usually look by set. I have some saved in My Pictures as well. I should do that again, so I clean out my favs and start over!
I have to admit, before the favorites thread, I didn't save many.... I thought, "Oh, that's pretty, I will have to remember that!" Then, two days later, it would be gone from my poorly functioning brain! Now, I have been saving about 5 a week to add to the favorites page, and then when everyone posts, I add about 5 more. I have added over 100 just in the past 10 weeks.
I like the idea of saving them to your computer - I may have to try that. I must admit though, I have never printed any out...I am too cheap with the ink!!;)
I just checked and I have around 720. I was really good for awhile about taking out the ones that I had already used elements from, but I haven't done that in a while. I think it might be time to take a few out. ;)

Wanda
Wanda, you actually work without the computer on??? Hmm... what a concept! Maybe I'd get more "work" done that way ;)
I don't have a "favorites" file. So much of the work on here is beautiful, but I don't save any because I don't want to be directly influenced by someone else's work. I do take inspiration from the work of others, but if the image isn't right in front of me, I'm more likely to come up with something entirely different.
I love the "sharing favorites' thread, though! It brings to my attention wonderful cards that I somehow overlooked.

I don't have any. If I REALLY REALLY like a card, I print a pic of it out for future reference. Other than that, I look purely for inspiration and entertainment.
I print them out. Lucky for me, DH was given a surplus printer from work. Big huge sucker that I was mad he brought home. Now well, I love it. Great for printing out workshop stuff and SCS stuff. Lucky for us he also got a dozen or so ink refill. The last one was good for about a year so I'll be printing out my faves for a long time.
I have 630 - I guess I should delete some of the first ones but the are all so beautiful, I can't bring myself to be so ruthless. ( That's probably why I have so many SU sets - I can't bring myself to trade them!! You never know when you will need one of them!!)
I have 9 in my favorites as of 2 hours ago, I cleaned my favorites file out. I print my favorites and then remove them. I have a 3 ring binder that I put all my favorites in after I print them and them I remove them because it makes it easier for me to remember which ones I have already printed.
I also had the problem of some of them printing off the right side of the page and then I figured out how to fix the problem, rather than just telling the computer to "print this page", I right click and highlight all that I want printed and then click on the printer button. I also get a page printed out that has only words and I just turn it over and use it to print the next page that way I am not wasting paper, or once in a while I will use these pages and cut them in 8ths to write notes on or give them to my granddaughter to draw on.
I use my "case file" for inspiration when I have a brain freeze but I always try to put a little tweek or twist on my card because I don't feel right copying someone elses work.

I only have about 100. I really only use it if there's a project that I might want to do, or if there's colors used that I have never seen before, etc. I hardly ever go in there to look! When I first started using it, I found myself adding a bunch of princessink's work, and then I thought...this is stupid, I can just go to her gallery if I want to admire some amazing work! So that's what I do now with a few artists.
When I sit down to create, though, I have nothing in front of me. I just sit down and create from whatever flows out of me.
Since I posted in October when I had very few favorites; we've gone to high-speed internet so I can be on-line all the time and not tie up the phone line and my computer is right next to my work station so I can have it up all the time. It's wonderful so my favoriates has now expanded to over 100 and it keeps growing. Keep those postings coming; I love it.
I have just under 100, but I jsut cleaned mine out. I tend to get rid of it once I haev "used" it, lol! If I am going to use some part of it in a design, I save it so I know who to credit...then Iremove it from my faves!
I have tons...too many really! 643 after today! I'm a fairly new stamper though and I save stuff to look at later because I like to look at the techniques and how stuff is combined......I try not to case directly but take inspiration and then use it differently.....guess i need to clean out some! haha! Guess that's what that "export as zip file" is for too!

I just downloaded all mine last night. I used the little "zip file" button at the top of my favorites gallery. Now I have them on my computer. I printed them out in thumbnail size to have as a reference when I am stamping. My computer is not anywhere near my stamping room. So, I am in the process of cleaning out all my favorites. A few I am keeping, because the have instructions on how they did a particular card/technique and I want that for future use. It is amazing how quickly they accumulate.

I put 40 in my faves this week...and that is just *so far*!!! There are still lots of hours today. And the way the talent is going in the gallery today, I suspect that I'll add at least 5-10 more!!!! ~ K

143 - more than I thought! I clear them out regularly; if I've CASEd them I don't see the point of keeping them any longer. I do restrict myself - I discovered Sweetmissdaisy's gallery recently and could easily have added all of them to my favourites!
OK right now I only have 29 in my favorites, BUT I don't even want to count the number of cards I have saved on my harddrive! OK I just checked there are 951 saved on my HD! LOL It's a good thing DH just bought the 200 gig HD
1038!! Can't bear to get rid of any as the ones I save are fabulous. Even if I CASE them, mine are never exactly like the original. I would hate to have to download all of those - it would use up to much of my hard drive space!!
Well, I have 607 and lots of them are printed as well. I find that I look at the printed ones because they are handy, but rather than look at my faves I am always checking out what's new and adding more.
I have 297 left after cleaning out many. I stamp in my dining room and my pc is on the other side of the house in the study. I used to print them out but now, to save on ink, I put them on a CD-R and view them on a portable dvd player while I'm stamping.
I only have 21 . . . but I don't much use the favourites feature.
Instead, I download the photos to my hard drive so that I can sort them into my own folders and subfolders. Occasionally I save my hard drive to disc.
The only time I save anything to favourites is when I want to remember the name of an artist. That way I can always quickly access her gallery (It's quicker than going through user gallery and I also don't have to remember any names). I only save one picture from any one user to favourites. Any others by the same artist are on my hard drive.

I have 394. I save cards on my hard drive also - the ones that I have the sets for or that don't need detailed instructions. I save the ones that have specific colors/brands or instructions that I want to remember.
Oh my gosh, i am in shock,, i knew i had over 100 but didnt think i was even close to 500 and i have 880 cards in my favorites, wow, I also print off some of them to take up to my stamping room for inspiration and I am certainly not going to go and count them but the stack is between two and three inches thick. I do find myself looking thru them for ideas.
You gals are great and so talented and I am forever amazed as I think we will run out of ideas here sometime. I was worried before Christmas as things seemed to slow down and the eye catchers just werent there, but in the last couple weeks, SCS is back on track with submissions and great cards with new ideas.. This truly is an amazing site and so much better than any of the mags I get. Just this last week, I received my Scrap and Stamp Arts mag and was disappointed. They went really artsy and way out and were doing projects.. :-( There was a great article on airflow in pages and cards which deals with layouts though. The layout is a big thing and can be hard to achieve. I think most times that is what is the problem when you feel a card is not quite right. Anyway, I am not into the artsy and stamping on anything,,, guess i am purist at heart with stamping cards and i know where the best comes from and if i need ideas, this is the place to come... TFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gals and keep it up,

Good idea!
I have over 200 in my favorites. When I need an idea for a card, I browse, then print one or two that I want to try. I hadn't thought about deleting.
not to hijack this thread but i have never been able to get the download favorite zip thing to work,,, is there a secret? I have tried it several times,,,
