When you are mailing out your cards in the plastic clear envelopes how are you addressing them? Do you put an address label on the outside plastic or do you print up an address and insert it inside the plastic? Stamp must go on outside, correct?
When inserting the card in the plastic envelope, which side do you put the closure? Is it on the same side as the mailing address or the front of the card? I'm assuming you face it to your left and put the stamp on the right?
I Put the closure on the address side (the back ) with the art showing fully on the front
and make sure to use the stamp as an extra seal for the flap . I either use an additional piece of paper of have addressed the card right on the back (if it is a light color)
I might have taken great delight in sending an extra stamp for a swap or somethign loose inside the clear envy even tho the postage was affixed to the outside.
Is every body adding extra postage to clear envies?
i have never had one returned for extra postage but my friend insists that her post office requires an additional fee.
I LOVE to use the clear envelopes! I almost always just hand right the mailing address on the back of the card, if it's a dark CS I use a mailing label, but I prefer everything but the stamp on the inside, and I agree, flap on the address side so that the card front is "pretty".
To answer Betsy, some Post Offices will charge extra because it is slick or because it has brads, fibers, etc. and has to be hand stamped (will not go through the machine). I found out the hard way last Christmas when some of my friends out of town had to pay an extra .12 cents to the postman to get their card! How embarrasing!! So now I always ask the postal teller if it needs extra postage before I mail them.

I always take a extra piece of paper and write the address on it and then place it inside the envelope and then close the flap on the side as the address. and I then place a stamp on the flap...This way you can tell if it has been opened before you get it. ( cause the stamp will be ripped)
The other side you can view without any flaps or labels.
I use a label for both the address and the return address. I have the back of the card on the label side. I think it is a great idea to use the stamp over the flap to prevent someone opening it, I hadn't thought of that! I also put extra postage on it just in case.
