I was thinking of all the wonderful advent calendars I had seen and then thought about my old classroom and how I used to do a "Winter Break" countdown with the kids.
I decided to make a candy can countdown for Camden's teacher. The poem reads:
When the school bell rings
And the kids go on their way
Eat a sweet treat from inside;
You’re down another day!
When the sweets are finished
And there’s nothing more to take
Say, “HOORAY!” & dance around
You’re now on
WINTER BREAK!!
I used an old formula can for the candy and gift wrap to decorate. There is a piece of candy inside for each day of school until winter break. (15 days but 30 pieces of candy-one for the teacher and one for the assistant).

I know lots of folks like to make things for the teachers so I thought I would share. Mine is VERY SIMPLE but I wantes to make sure to get it done to take in tomorrow.
