Just a quick question. I have a huge pile of swap cards, and I was thinking of sending some to my DH and his Marines in Iraq to mail back to their loved ones. Is it okay to send them cards I didn't make? I'm not taking credit for them. I guess what I really want to know is, if you and I had swapped would you be peeved if I gave your card to someone else to use? Do I need to ask the makers before I do this? That's a lot of emails. Just some feedback would be great. Thanks.
Personally I wouldn't be offended if a card I had sent in a swap was used for this purpose...not everything we receive in a swap is something we would want to use ourselves - why not let someone else have the joy of sending it to another.

Most people I know who swap EXPECT that their cards will be sent out or used in some fashion. I think that is a great idea- and it certainly shouldn't offend anyone- afterall- why go to all the trouble of making a card for it to sit in a box- let someone get some joy out of your creation, right? JMO.
I think it would be an awesome idea to send them to Iraq for the Marines to send home. One of my favorite blogger friends collects cards from other stampers and sends them to her husband to pass out to the men and women he works with overseas. What a great way to bless someone else.

I would not be offended it you sent a card I had swapped with you to Iraq for our soldiers to use. I think most stampers would love the idea. In fact most of the swap cards I have gotten back don't even have names on them, so who could complain anyways.

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering.
I know not everyone shares this opinion, but the way I see it is that when I send it out to you, it's yours to use as you please. I mean, assuming you're not doing anything for profit, but I really don't care.
I have been doing this the last 4 years. I request a plus one to send to the troops. Right now I have a box going out with another 300 cards to the husband of one of my customers. I prefer to send to a family member then I know they get there.
It's a great idea, I originally got it from Keri, one of the mods. I have never had anyone state an objection.
I have given away lots of my swapped cards for special causes -- military or fund raisers. After I have looked through a swap for a period of time to get ideas, I don't need them anymore. Better that they go to a good use than to the back of my closet, never to be seen again.
Once a swapper receives swaps, they become the possession of the swapper, who is free to do with them as they wish (whether it's selling them on eBay or donating them).
Sending cards to the military and to other organizations is a great way to use extra or unneeded swaps. I personally would rather see swaps go to causes that help a large number of people rather than to eBay where is only profits the seller and buyer (and eBay and/or Paypal lol).
The swap I was just in 6 out of ten of the cards are NOT signed. So if I wanted to contact "the owners" I can't. I feel once they are swap out the are now yours. Go for it.
So I guess this is a new thread "Sign the back of your Swap Cards!"

Hello...Ladies from all over the country, Canada and Scotland have sent me their card front swaps to remount and send to the troops. They LOVE the cards. I have sent more than 13500 so far. My goal right now is 20,000 and then raise the goal again...You will make many people smile if you send the cards...Amber
