Wonderful You. I just never, ever get sick of this one (as I am sure the recipients of my cards would tell you!!!) Not that I ever part with my stamps anyway!

Another vote for Wonderful Words. I also love Stella Stamper. I use the smaller images more than Ms. Stella herself, but I love that set. Oh! and Trees Three. And pretty much all the rest.LOL!!
Fishy Friends (and Fishy wheel)
It's Your Birthday
French Flair
Friendship Flowers
Stella Stamper has never been available here in NZ, but I was lucky enough to spot a used set on sale online and got it. I can see why it's got so many votes in this thread. I won't be selling it on, either
I have alot that I think I will probably keep forever. I love backgrounds and masculine/detailed art sets! Here's my list:
All Aboard
Ancient Art
Antique Cracking BG
Balmy Breezes
Campout
Born to Ride
Chicken Wire BG
Classic Convertibles
Classic Pickups
Coast to Coast
Equestrian Dream
Flannel Plaid BG
Girl Power
Houndstooth BG
Island Blossoms
Just Jeans BG
Leopard BG
Musical Manuscript
Musical Score BG
Old World Map BG
On Safari
Paisley BG
Print Pattern BG
Roughing It
Safari BG
Scouts at Play
Script BG
Set Sail
Southwest
Sporting Goods
Very Punny
Weathered BG
I am sure that I can think of more when I am more awake but, these come to mind just now.
Roses in Winter (though I don't use it much now)
Delight in Life
Weathered BG
French Script BG
All Year Cheer I, II and III (love the script)
Like it a Latte
Lovely as a Tree
My French versions of Office Accoutrement and Be Happy!!!
Stitched Witch, Gentler Times, Stitched Halloween Wheel. Almost none of them I guess. But the ones I listed here are my absolute favourite sets.
My list is very long:
most Christmas sets
sets with religious themes/sentiments
military sets
bold solid florals
most vintage sets
most background stamps
I do sell some sets as they retire and sometimes I find an old set and wonder "why did I keep this one?" so out it goes!
On the flip side, I regret selling some vintage and sports sets and some I sold WAY too cheap and wish I had them to sell now for top dollar!
Mary Beth
I sell just about everything either the year it retires or the year after, if I haven't used it in that year, but I have a small stack I plan to keep regardless.
Star Studded Season (all religious/inspirational Christmas sayings)
Elegant Inspirations (four really lovely verses in a nice font)
Wonderful Wings (my Crystal Effects butterflies are a huge craft fair seller)
Woodland Cottage (for the Anglophile in me)
Cowboy Kid (because I scrap a trip to WY every year)
Blossoms Abound (crazy about lilacs)
At one time I had most of the sets people have listed here, but managed to live without them long enough that I found them new homes. I am really ruthless about retired because I am a business demonstrator and don't have the time or the room to keep stuff around that I am not actively using.

Sketch It (got it for the sunflower but love the heart just as much)
Background stamps (esp. floral, flannel plaid and sanded ... might be willing to part with paisley because it has a flowery design and I prefer a masculine paisley)
Anything with a sunflower (I don't own them all ... would love Provencal)
Button Bear + Accessories - I have a thing for bears and although I haven't used him in years, I LOVE him ... and, he was my very first stamp set!
Mixed Bouquet - I just love those flowers for some reason!
Sincere Salutations - it's not retired, but I will NEVER part with this set - it's perfect for so many occasions.
Peaceful Wishes - such a cute, easy and versatile Holiday set!
Gorgeous Grapes - I have a thing for grapes and this set is so beautiful to me!
Nice male sets! They're hard to come by.
Lovely as a Tree - great for all ages, all occasions and is so artistic!
By Land/By Sea/By Air - with these 3 sets, I'm covered for all the boys I will ever meet!
Coast to Coast, Winds of Grace and Old World Map BG - My father, stepfather and father-in-law were all in the Navy, so these get used a lot. I'm still looking for a Schooner set to go with them!

Reason: added more
My favorites:
Stipple Rose
Romantic Rose
Wrerath of Roses
Elegant Greetings
Toile Blossoms
My favorite of all time: Kindness Is...a special set you had to earn. The Iris is the most beatiful stamp I own!
I can honestly say that there aren't any retired sets I feel the need to hold onto. As a demonstrator, each year I pull out the retiring stamp sets and unload them here on the BST boards, Ebay, give them away as hostess gifts/door prizes, etc.
I'm not a demo so I don't really get rid of anything but I will always hold on to:
Paint Prints
Cool Cat
Happy Harmony
Print Pattern BG
Linen BG
Weathered BG
The Snowflake Spot
Like it a Latte
Pines
and then there's a set that I can't remember the name of and I didn't label it but it's a border set with a row of birdhouses, a row of snowmen, a row of teapots, and a row of rabbits and garden tools. Best Borders or something like that.
Those are my must hang on to's, but actually there's only a handful of sets that I would even consider giving up. Since I'm not a demo and have no intentions of becoming one, I buy my sets for keeps.

Mine would be :
Christmas Cardinal
Christmas Carolers
Balmy Breezes
Old World Map
Coast to Coast
In Full Bloom and the co-ordinating one that goes with it
Tons of others...I can't think of their names!
When I had to face the fact I was out of storage room, because I had close to 400 SU sets, plus lots of other stamp company stamps I made a radical decision. I unmounted everyone I could, which left me plenty of room to keep all my 7,000 images, Whoo Hoo. Now I can play with old stamps, new stamps and what ever fits. I have noticed a trend that designs recycle, so I'm always current enough.
