Our family is planning a trip to Florida and I would like to do some shopping. Can anyone recommend some great stores that I must stop at - I do card making and scrapbooking. I have done a little bit of googling but have not really come up with too much yet - so I thought this would be a much better place to ask. Thank you!
We are going to be travelling throughout all of Florida and we usually try to stop at different stores on our travels. So any suggestions would really be appreciated.
We have a SUPER store in Lakeland, Fl. (located on I-4 between Tampa and Orlando)
The name is Violette's and has stamping and scrapbooking! Hope you make it to our town - nice place to spend the night, too. If you want, you can email me at [email protected] and I'll give you some suggestions.
BTW - the weather is great. :-)
If your travels take you to the northern east coast, I know of three stamp stores. I've been to two of the three and can say the owners are wonderful. I've heard good things about the third, just haven't been there yet.
if you are in Ft.Myers, The Owl and the Pussycat is a favorite of mine. They carry a nice selection of stamps. in addition, her displays are very pretty. I think of her store as being a little more upscale and that might be because the owner has beautiful samples all around the store together with pretty fibers, inks, etc.
Whim So Doodle in St. Petersburg is a good place to shop. You can click on their name to go to their website. They cater more to scrapbooking, but they do have a nice variety of stamping supplies.
I've been to many of the store's mentioned above. The only one I haven't visited is Whim So Doodle. If you go to the Owl & the Pussycat (which I would recomend) be sure to go to Sanabel Island. My boys loved the beach. It has more shells than you can ever imagine.
I live in the Orlando area & my favorite store is Scrappy Boutique. They have the latest & greatest in scrapbooking supplies. The back corner has a great clearance section. It doesn't hurt that they have great customer service. Here is their site Scrappy Boutique
Have a great trip. JIL

Scrappy Boutique is closing. :( I stopped by there after Christmas when I was home in Orlando. IIRC, their last day is this week.
Thanks ladies for all of your suggestions. I guess the card/scrapbooking industry is turning over to online sales more and more. I prefer to be able to see and touch the products that I love to use. That is why I was hoping there would still be quite a few local stores out there to visit.
There are a couple of stores I shop at in the western panhandle of Florida, but those are a days drive from the east or central Florida stores. A Scrap in Time in Crestview, and GiGi's (Al.) Both of them are scrapbook store with limited stamping supplies.
