Default Stamping/Scrapbooking Retreats?

My Mom and I are in the works of thinking of opening a scrapbooking/stampin facility to hold retreats. It would have a large room with tables, a kitchen, theatre, bedrooms, hot tub...etc. Meals would be provided for the weekend, etc. We'd also have things like cricuts, cuttlebugs, cutters, punches, etc. available so that people coming don't have to bring.

Is this something that is in demand right now?

What are some ideas that you have that we could incorporate.

we had a LSS that offered crop times for a fee...

we could use the die cut machine and all the punches.

i really just liked having a space with good lighting, ample work space and to be around others that shared my passion.

i think there is a demand for what you are talking about.

Dh and I are considering doing something like this. We are thinking of buying the house near our new house to hold the retreats. You can google scrapbook/stamping retreats and see what other places offer, their fees, etc. I've been trying to research it as much as I can. I live in a small town and we used to have a scrapbook crop that would come here twice a year. There would be a minimum of 50 people there and I was the ONLY one from Clinton. People will travel to do these things.

How ironic that I saw this thread because me and my girlfriends have been calling up house rentals for a scrapbooking/cardmaking retreat all morning and are having a hard time finding the perfect place! I think your idea is a good one. In fact, the places we called all told us they get asked about scrap retreats all the time. So I know there is demand for this type of thing. (We live in WA and always go to Whidbey Island.)

There is one not too far from where I live, I have never been there. It's called **** A Doodle something. I think because it is in the country they chose that name. You could Google it, I don't know what they have listed for prices, etc.

I don't like to leave home to scrap/stamp as all my stuff is here in my space and I like it here. But I think I am alone in my opinion.

I've heard that some scrapbook retreats have waiting lists months long so I would say go for it!

I think it is a great idea! There is one about an hour away from me and I have been there twice. You have to schedule at least 5 or 6 months in advance. There is definitely a demand for this!
