I would like to subscribe to a stamping magazine but am overwhelmed by all the choices! Do you subscribe to a magazine? What do you recommend? I make cards and other items - I don't do any scrapbooking. Suggestions, please?!
I do! The one magazine I love and subscribe to is Papercrafts. One that I buy off the counter is Stamp It. There are lots of arguments that you don't need to subscribe to something when this site is here, etc etc but to be honest, I love to look at something in my hands, not just on a screen. You can't curl up with a cup of coffee in front of the woodstove nearly as well with a computer!
I used to get Rubber Stamper, but it is now in Crafts. That is the only one that I get in the mail, but the one I love is Take 10, that comes out every few months. It is more expensive, I think like $15, but I use the 40% off at Mike's or Joanns to pick it up. I love all of the layouts.
Vamp Stamp News is a cool one, it's not glossy and only has a few color pages, but the rest of it is PACKED with tips and step by step instruction, so that's fun to read. Really READ I mean.
Those are my top cardmaking/stamping ones
OH Papercrafts has a less often one, Stamp It, that I love and buy whenever it comes out, sometimes it's even Stamp It Cards, and that's even better! *sense I hardly stamp other things, although some folks do*

I really like the Stampington publications, especially the 10-minute card magazine called Stampers' Sampler Take Ten. These issues are quarterly and have hundreds of stamped samples in each.
I subscribe to Paper Crafts too and love it. Also the same company puts out larger books. I love their Joy of Card Making series. It is full of card sketches and lots of examples of how to personalize the sketch.
Goals for 2015 50 scrapbook pages/50 cards---progress 35/50 cards Complete my daughter's wedding scrapbook album Spend more time enjoying my friends and not so much time obsessing on work!!!
Stampington magazines are my favorites. They are more expensive, but they are beautiful. Printed on nice paper, beautiful photos - keepers for a long time.
Papercrafts is also fun, but I can find it at my library so I am getting another Stampington magazine instead this year...
I love CardMaker. The photography is great, the instructions are clear, and the variety is excellent. CardMaker is, for example, the only magazine I've seen do a spread on sympathy cards; at my age, I'm finding myself more and more in need of those and much less inspired for those than I am for cards for happier occasions.
Papercrafts and Take Ten are both great. But my favorite is having a subscription to the fan club here. I find so much more inspiration from this and you get to look at it whenever you want. I know I buy stamping magazines but rarely look at them again but with the fan club I am always checking things out.
I'm ready to let my sub. to Paper Crafts go. I have been very disappointed in the last few issues. I did look thru an issue of PC I think it was called 'Gifts From the Heart', it had some cute ideas. There are so many neat blogs now that have WOW projects and ideas--I think it is a very competitive field.
I think it really depends on your style. Rubber Stamp Madness is one style - some are loaded with cards that are mostly made with scrapbook paper and very little stamping - I think my current favorite is Stamper's Sampler but in all honesty I gotta say that you guys here really inspire me far more than anything I've seen in print.
