Smile Stamping kitty paw

I hope that this is the right place to ask this question.

Does anyone know what ink would be safe to use to stamp my kitten's paw? I would like to make a scrapbook page with my kitten's paw print on it and want to make sure that the ink I use is safe for this.:-D

TIA

I would trim away the fur that grows around and between their pads so that you can just stamp the toes. I trim my cats fur their regularly so they can get more traction and stop using their claws on my hardwood floors for traction lol

I've made rubber stamps from my kitties' paw prints. What I'd suggest is using a darker craft ink. The water-based ink just doesn't show up with a paw print impression, and since you can't tell them to "press down" the image shows up much lighter.

First, I wet a warm washcloth with baby wash. Then I set up my paper and opened the ink pad. I used SU's craft ink. IME a back paw's impression works better than the front. Get a few images if you can, then immediately wash the paw pad thoroughly and wipe dry.

I'd suggest doing this after a long play session. . . so kitty is tired. PM me for details if you like.

Well I can tell you from experience that when a cat walks across an SU classic black pad it leaves lovely prints across your table.....

That's a big kitten!! What breed is it? I have 2 kitties - they are sisters and are 7 years old. One weighs 6 pounds and the other is a 'chunky' 9 1/2.

Would love to see pictures of your scrapbook page and your kitty

I never thought about doing that - that's a FABULOUS idea!! Even though my three cats are 5 and 6, it still wouldn't be too late! Please, please, please let us know how this turns out!!

Jasper is a 10lb 8oz chocolate siamese. I bought him and a seal point from a breeder near Atlanta in early April and my little seal point turned out to have a terminal illness called F.I.P. The breeder guarantees the health and will send me another kitten but my heart isn't ready. I had to put my little guy down on the 24th I stamped his paw print with whatever I could find before so the I could scrapbook his short life with his big buddy Jasper. Now my buddy is missing his little buddy and my heart is broken. A Big Thank you to everyone for all of your help and I will hopefully be able to start this project this weekend.
