Wow those are BIG Bucks... How about a plywood box with quater round moulding on each side every few inches and maybe cookie sheets to slide in and out on the quarter round. Make sense?
Oh, the possibilities with that are just endless! Definitely outside of my budget  . I bet someone has a woodworker that could make one for a fraction of the cost.

I don't have a rubber room but I have a stamping/scrapbooking cabinet in my family room. I was inspired by a similar idea and tweaked it a little bit for my cabinet. The sides have been routed so that I can slide cookie sheets in and out. I store my stamps on the cookie sheets (that I bought on sale 2/$1.00) in the SU containers or my very favorite sets I put on the paper lined cookie sheet and sort them by theme. I can take a whole tray out and see every stamp I have at a glance. My large background stamps are stored in the white baskets on the right of the cookie sheets. I can fit four to a basket. I will attach a picture. Hope this inspires someone.

That is great!
I have a bunch of cabinets I got from Target. I have my loose stamps in acrylic box frames. I never even thought about cookie sheets.
I checked out the website and prices for french envy! How overpriced! I have a chest from a company that is made just as well at a fraction of the cost...www.mtpdesigns.com Check them out! Super nice and easy to deal with and made very well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sticking to my rubber-maid totes. One has my stamps, the other stamping supplies. I left the pads in the origianl boxes standing on end. Smaller stuff like the hole punches, brads, emboss powers, are in zip-lock bags. In fact my supply tote is almost over flowing. I got file folers and gave each 'color' a folder. Marked the color name and family on the tabs. At night I had a hard time telling one color from the other.
Okay, I admit, I have over 100 SU! sets plus many contraband. I store mine in medium (18 x 10 x 6 - or somewhere around there) plastic tubs with lids. I number each tub. Then whenever I get a new set, or stamp, I copy the image on regular xerox paper prior to mounting (or if already mounted I stamp in black on xerox paper). Then I place the corresponding tub number on the xerox paper. The image then goes into a plastic sleeve and a three ring binder. I have my binder organized by category exactly like the SU! catty.
This keeps me from having to re-organize/move stamps sets by category (because a tub was full), which is how I first started out trying to store them. I can easily find any of my sets because I can just sit down with my three ring binder, look up the number and bingo there it is.
This also helps me in designing as I can look at the images on paper and play around without having to dig out all my supplies. Hope this helps! Suzanne
Karen that 's an awesome cabinet!! Did you say you did it yourself!! Way to go girl!!
Thanks! I designed it but had someone else build it. (this is actually just one part of it)My husband said I can have whatever stamps can fit inside but I am not allowed to out grow it. At first I was a little "put out" but in reality I don't fully useall the stamps I already have. Friends and I trade and buy stamp sets from each other that are no longer being used a lot so I still have plenty of variety and get new sets all the time.

I used to do the rubbermaid storage tubs, but I found it was such a pain to dig thru them to find what I needed so I switched to just a bookcase. I only allow myself 1 shelf for retired sets (the rest are in a tub) and the rest is all current with hostess sets on the top. It isn't fancy but it works for me and the price was sure right! And if I ever decide to splurge on something fancy, I'm not out too much!
I found a bunch of milk crates someone threw out, stacked them on their side on top of my desk and slide the stamps in there, two rows of stamp sets per crate. Nothing like the elaborate storage, but it works for now...
The best way I have found is a tip I got from one of the SCS people here! I have a bureau that I have the stamps in but one of the people here said they organize their sets ON END -- whoa I am so amazed that now I can find stuff now! I have them in there on their sides with the name of the stamp set showing on the outside of the box, and now I open the drawer and can see them all right there. Before they were all stacked on top of each other and it took forever to find stuff. I can't see paying that kind of high price for an organizing system, would rather pay the money for actual stamps or other stuff!
I came across the french envy website awhile ago and brought a picture into work. They said they could probably make it a lot cheaper. I am waiting until I get my craft room re done so I know exactly what size will fit before I have them quote me a price and make it.

Wow! Where do you work?? Ican't be that far from you!
A tip I was given was to put an addrss label inside your plastic stamp case (you know what they come in). I put my address label in there, right behind the name of the set - and oh my! You can really read which set it is without having to stare at them for minutes! Plus now if I take them to a craft night, I have it labeled - bonus.
I LOVE the "for-keeps-sake" website - I have been looking at the cabinets for years hoping one day that I will be able to drop that kind of $ for one!!!
