Hi! I need some advice! I want two stamp sets, one with flowers and one alphabet. I can't figure out which ones to get, which would be the most versatile. I have the Tall Tales alphabet, I need something smaller. Also, I need a flower set for cards and such, a good generic one. any recommendations?
For a flower set I'd go with Heartfelt Thanks just because it's so versatile. If you look in the gallery for that set you'll see it's been used to female cards, male cards, Christmas cards, birthday, thanks... It goes on an on! Definetly a lot of bang for your buck.
You know you're gonna get a bajillion different responses right? I guess you need to decide what size and style alpha you want. Brushstroke was the first one I got and I don't use it as much as I thought (but I don't scrapbook either). I also have Headline, but I got that primarily for monogram note cards. As for a versatile flower, I'd have to go with either In Full Bloom or Heartfelt Thanks. Good luck making a decision!
Alphabet I would get Brushstroke or Classic (since you want smaller, depending on your style).
Floral I'd go Petal Prints, as I've seen a LOT of different stuff done with that.
Of course, IMHO, Natural Beauty is more versatile, because it's more masculine as well, but like I said, that's just MHO. ;)

ROTFL!!! I must 2nd that reply.
Heartfelt Thanks
Newsprint Alphabet is a more of a classic style alpha which gives you optimal versatility, but again, a lot depends on the size you're going for.

For the flower set, figure out if you like to color in (In Full Bloom) or stamp and go -- Heartfelt Thanks or Terrific Tulips would be good choices. All are very versatile. Heartfelt also has 2 word stamps along with it.

I would get Shapes & Shadows - it has a stamp that could be used as a flower, but it has so much more, and it's very versatile. Terrific Tulips & Easy Elegance are also good choices. I have Heartfelt Thanks on my wish list.
If you decided on an alphabet stamp set you should know that the Stampin Up special starting May 1st is buy a stamp set and number set and a simply scrappin pack get a 6x6 linen album free. The numbers and scrappin pack may be more than you intended to get, but I thought you should know about the special in case you're interested in all of it. Ask your demo for all the details.

I love the Pure & Simple uppers alphabet for middle sized alphabet, Letter Press for the large alpha and Newprint for the smaller alpha.
My favorite, most-used florals are Roses in Winter and Petal Prints.
