I have noticed many samples in the new catalog showing the use of brads and the hodgepodge hardware. I am wondering what you do to the inside of your card when the brads show through?
If it shows through I just leave it. but most of the time the brad is though one layer and then put ontop of another layer so it doesn't show through. Does that make sense?
I design the card so that doesn't happen. For instance, if I put the brad through a layer before attaching it to the card base, so it doesn't go through all the layers. If there are no layers at all, which is unusual for me, I will put a liner piece of paper in the card to hide it. Just cut a piece of paper the same size as the card minus 1/4" or so and tape it in.

good idea.
p.s. haven't got my bare minerals yet betsy but working on it. had to do a few things first.
I never place brads/eyelets so they will show through on the inside of the card. If I want to place them directly on the card base I will use glue dots to place them on the front. Eyelets are set on the piece going on the card base, then glue dots or sticky strip are used to adhere the piece to the base. For brads I cut the shanks off using my Fiskars kitchen scissors and stick the glue dot directly to the back of the brad head. If the brad is used w/ hodgepodge hardware, I splay the prongs on the back of the hardware and cut off anything that would stick out, then use the glue dots.
You should see the back of my counted crossstitch- every thing is neat there too. I always apply hardware before I do the last layer, sometimes it doesn't hold a darn thing, it just looks like it does.

Thanks ladies for your ideas and suggestions! I too would finish the inside of a card so that nothing shows. It just seemed to me that in the catalog they showed lots of non-layered cards with brads and other stuff attached to them. Lisa.....I sure like your glue dots idea! I will be sure to try it!

The *guts* of a card don't bother me in the least. Unless mine are on a dimensionally raised layer, or sandwiched between layers, they show on the inside. No biggie to me.
